Does anyone have an opinion on the plethora of chains available? Renthal, DID, RK and so on? I was looking to buy off Jake Wilson and get a new rear tyre as well. Does JW ship Metzler to Oz?

Cheers, Tony.

It's a bit like tyres. One person will say this is best. Another will say that. As long as it is a well known brand I dont think you will go wrong. But. They all have different grades, so go with the best that you can afford.

If money wasn't a problem "The Chain gang " are definitely the best sprockets and what ever chain he recommends to go with them .The last time
i got a quote was $500 C@p .A bit much but seeing the last twice as long it isn't to bad .I just didn't have $500 unfortunately .

I would suggest a X-ring chain from DID or RK. Personally, I use the DID ZVM2 but I think the RK equivalent is a GXW. I buy them off this guy on eBay http://myworld.ebay.com.au/didchains/?_trksid=p4340.l2559 , if he doesn't have a listing for what you want, drop him a message and he will put it up for you. The only chain I can comment on negatively is the Regina, had one as OEM on my Husky WR250 and it started to spit o-rings, only chain I have seen do that.

Cheers

I bought a Renthal R4 SRS and JT sprockets. The chain is rated to 9800lb. All up from Jake Wilson, with a chain rivetting kit was $322 delivered. Should see it here next Monday.

Think about fitting a Scotoiler as well... One of the guys onsite rides an 06 SV1000. He just replaced his OEM chain at 86000kms, he has had a Scottoiler on the bike since new.

I've just recently fitted one to my bike and just trying to fine tune it atm to minimise fling. So far so good.
