Hi from Grumpy 60

Hello this is Mrs grumpy typing this for grumpy. Grumpy was finally diagnosed with lung cancer in October. Unfortunately it is inoperable. We spent 4 weeks in Canberra hospital for an operation to stop fluid from happening again and then on to chemo. by the time the cancer was discovered and diagnosed they told us it was already at stage 4 (only 4 stages) and advanced. So the chemo is only pallative as there is no cure. it is also already in the bone and he has a fracture on his spine and two fractures in his left shoulder (again inoperable). He is permanetly on oxygen and we have a machine set up at home. He is now having his chemo at Bega hospital which saves a lot of travel to Canberra. He dropped 14 kg in weight before he even started the chemo and is still steadily losing weight. BUT HE HAS A GOOD FIGHTING SPIRIT AND IS NOT GIVING UP YET!!! He has said to tell you that he really enjoyed being on the bandit forum and it is the best forum he has ever been on and wishes yoy all the best for the future.

Thanks for letting us know, though the news is not what we wanted to hear. I am so sorry, Grumpy made a big impression in a short time, if you can spare the time, we'd all appreciate updates when you can.

Thanks for the update. Having been through similar circumstances with my Mum, I hope that your time is up, that you meet it on your terms.

I haven`t known grumpy very long but found his wicked sense of humor inspirational, especially now knowing the trying times you both were having . Our thoughts & wishes go with you both & thank you for taking the time to let us know how he is . May you both take comfort in the knowledge that he has had a great impact on a lot of people with whom he came into contact with his infectious personality .

A very sobering thread that certainly hits us all in the Bandit Family. How very brave of you both. Our prayers are with you and your family in this gigantic battle.

Sad to hear the news. Grumpy he certainly isn't and we will miss the old bugger. Wishing you both all the best in the circumstances.

Over 7 years ago my father was given 2 years to live because of cancer - he is still goin'.
