2002 1200 burning oil issue???
Hi all.
Just about to buy a 2002 1200. I have read on some UK forums that there was a oil burning issue with the 2002 and 2003 models. Anyone heard of this? Anyone had this happen with their bike?

Oil burning can come down to many causes. So to 2nd guess would only be a stab in the dark. Just do the mandatory checks on a 2nd hander. Look for any tell tale signs, ie, blue smoke, dirty exhaust tip. Any strange noises. Best of luck. Report back soon.

Nothing wrong with a bit of "upper cylinder lubricant"

I spoke to a mate last night who has a 1200 and he has never had this problem. As said here, and from my searching the net, looks like it was a small batch that went to the UK and USA that did this.
