First topic message reminder :

Pulling into work this morning I had a sensation that there was a heap of play in the throttle grip. Surprised
Having never felt this before I investigated and found the right bar end weight very loose and the left one not tight. Shocked
Now people who know me and know my bike know I'm pedantic about maintenance and more than once I have berated others for slack maintenance so this morning I kicked myself in the arse. What a Face
I can honestly say that after the initial 500Km shakedown when I ran the tools over the bike and was surprised at what wasn’t to spec (nothing to do with pre delivery or assembly) I have not checked the weights since. Now they'll be on the semi regular check list along with anything else I find tonight. Smile

How long since you checked yours?

Many thanks to Gus and special thanks to EWOK for his instructions on how to upload piccies. I did it OK but this site wont let me upload external files because I am a new member and have to wait 7 days.

Whats all that about?

Sorry Guys you will just have to wait a week. However I can confirm the place I bought them from is called: "Motociclo"

I hope that helps those that may be interested.
Cheers for now. Baker Street

Are the bar end weights in to stop shake/vibration coming through the steering?
I am missing one so am getting a bit of a shake coming through bars when I ride with one hand. 2 hands it is not really noticeable.
Thanks.

Check Your Bar End Weights! - Page 2 Empty Maybe some loctite

Question, when they fall out, is it the bolt undoing from the nut or is the rubber falling out as well?

If its just the bolt then some Loctite 222 should do the trick.

Yes the nut comes off the bolt.
Can't use any glue type stuff because you will want to remove them one day and you'll need to be able to undo them unless you could somehow fix the nut to the back of the rubber block. No good fixing it to the bolt.

the bar end weights stop vibration /shaking is another matter ; that could be down to your front tyre pressure or unusual tyre wear or maybe your head stem bearings might need adjusting . also I would jack the front of the bike up & spin the wheel slowly to make sure it is spinning straight & correctly & no nasty bearing noises (you could also see if there is any movement in your forks backward & forward from your head stem bearings while your there )
