Just upgraded
First topic message reminder :
Howdy,
Have had my GSF1250SA K10 for almost 2 weeks now, & loving every minute on it! This was an upgrade from a DL650.

Re: Just upgraded
Yoshi installed! Like very much!
there is also a video of it on my site.
It fits really well with the Hepco & Becker panniers - probably more clearance than there was with the stock pipe.

How does it sound? What is the difference in weight?

not sure about the exact weight difference - but it's noticeable!
as for the sound, click here...... http://word.scottbsgallery.com/2009/12/30/yoshimura-r77-installed

Nice sized hole in the end too
For what its worth my Beowulf saved 9 1/2 kg and it does make a difference.
Just have to loose a heap myself now

Re: Just upgraded
it's not as big as it looks!
will be taking it into Sydney Dyno next week for "fixing up". I'm not too happy with the amount of "popping" under deceleration, so a PCIII is being installed with custom map & dyno runs.
two more farkles on the horizon, when finances permit. those being a radiator guard from Holeshot, & a seat - probably sargeant.
tires may have to be replaced before these are added though. i don't think that the dunlops will last terribly long.

The pop and crackle on the over run is part of the attraction of a new can
Your dyno info will be interesting though

the crackle - yes, I agree. the popping on the other hand will cause damage to the engine.

The pop & crackle can be eliminated by blocking off the air injection pipes located on the rocker cover. Or you can block off the air feed pipe from the airbox. Personally I llike it.

Simply, put a steel ball in the rubber tube from the air cleaner box. Stops all the popping! I think it was a 11mm ball I used?

The popping and crackle is present with the standard muffler, its just you can't hear it. There is no way you can hurt the motor as you cant with the standard muffler, after all the muffler can't make the engine backfire. I agree the pop and crackle are part of the attraction.

Re: Just upgraded
OK, finally got around to getting a radiator guard. I had been looking at one from the US, but picked up a Cox from Bike Gear Warehouse for around $80. Easy to fit, & looks the way I wanted (plain mesh).

Just Upgraded
Hi mate,
I've not long upgraded to a Bandit 1250s k9 from a DL650 as well, they're a good bike. Just waiting for my Yoshi RS3 pipe to arrive, its on back order from bikegearwarehouse.

Hi Badger,
In an ideal world I'd still have the V-Strom as well as the Bandit, as the carrying capacity of the V-Strom is more ideal for some of the things I get up to, but I can't go past the power of the Bandit!
The RS3 will look good! Which version did you go for?

Re: Just upgraded
Hi Boomer,
The Vstrom was my first road bike, after only riding dirt bikes before it was a great transition to a full road bike.
As for which Yoshi RS3, I ended up ordering the all stainless style cause I wanted the same look as the standard pipe.
badger.
