Just upgraded
Hi from Adelaide.
I've been reading this forum for a little while, and has helped me to decide to upgrade and buy a 2012 GSX1250FA. I had been riding a 1988 GSX750F for 12 years and thought it was about time.

Re: Just upgraded
Thanks for the welcome.
I was looking at a variety. V-Strom, F800GT, Triumph Sprint, Tiger Sport, VFR800, Nijna 1000.
But it came down to value for money, the low rpm torque, the seating position, and the reviews and recommendations.
Just hoping now for good weather so I can take it for a decent ride :-)

Re: Just upgraded
Thanks guys.
The bike came with Sargent seat and what I think is a vario screen, so it's almost ready for some touring. I'm just about to buy some Givi luggage (V46 & V35) through PIQUonline. I saw they were recommended on this forum. Has anyone had any issues with PIQUonline? I'm also presuming the PLX539 and FZ539 will be compatible with my 2012 GSX1250FA. Is this correct?

lol well I'm not sure what that means, but I do ride in the rain at times so Givi looked like a good way to go.
Hi Paul, I'm close to the city at Kurralta Park.

Jenks is a fair dinkum guy. I bought the seat off him, no hassles.
In Adelaide too, from memory.

Re: Just upgraded
Yes it was me who recommended Piquonline. Andrea was very helpful, good service, price, delivery times & communication.
However when I asked him to quote me on an E135 lighting kit for my V47 topbox he was way to expensive! So be sure to check with other sellers first.
PLX539 is the correct pannier rack for the GSF1250 and the GSX.
FZ539 is the correct topbox rack. You will also need a M5 mounting plate to attach the topbox (monokey type)

Yep, Kurralta Park
Thanks for the link to the bits for sale Bosco15, was worth checking out, but I've decided on the ones I'm after.
I'll keep watching the forum for when a SA meet up happens, Cheers.

Re: Just upgraded
Brooklyn Park to Karullta Park is very close, just a few km.
When this blizzard is over and Mrs Chook is happily settled into her new kitchen we'll have to have a meet up and go for a ride.

Good idea about the catch up

Re: Just upgraded
Welcome GSXChris.
I also bought a 2012 GSX a few weeks back. The poor thing is looking pretty grotty at the moment... I keep putting off washing it because I keep riding it in this shitty weather we're having.
