One more thing....
What do people do with the huge muffler? Is there anything smaller??? Yes yes, I know that size does count but...

Re: One more thing....
do you have a boat - as the stock muffler will make a fantastic anchor!
there are many, many smaller ones available - personally I went with the Yoshi R77 (which seems to be a favourite of a few on here)

I've put mine in a cupboard in the shed, just in case.
There are lots of options. I'm cheap so I went for a Scorpion pipe (I got mine for a tad less than $600), sounds and looks better than the OEM, but that wouldn't be hard.

Are these hard to fit - I mean, is an expert needed? (A "muffler fitting" expert???)

Re: One more thing....
I got my yoshi R77 from bikegearwarehouse.com.au delivered door to door free for under $500 (I think the price has come down). Mine is the one with carbon tip - they have photos on their web page so you can see if they are to your taste. Otherwise there are plenty of other options which others here on the forum can highlight. They come with easy install instructions which you can follow or if you know someone handy.

We all love exhaust systems here ,especially when someone else pays for it.Bit far for me ,just ask if you get one.

Its all come down to your taste.

I could have rattled on about checking posts or searching to see what others have fitted but I wont.

I'm glad, otherwise I might have pointed out that this isn't the moderator heavy other place we both frequent.

I know I should be checking for everything that's already been said, but like most people I don't always have alot of time to browse. And anyway, I'm new here and asking questions is a good way to socialise! There's always new ideas too.

Re: One more thing....
And just about everyone here has a different opinion about exhaust cans;only dodgy report so far is the Staintune, Cam has had no end of issues with rust. As far as the others are concerned I do think that generally you get what you pay for, be aware that some may require removal of the centre stand and generally very small = noisy and/or restrictive. I have a Megacycle which I got for a good price, but if I was paying retail then I think the Yoshi would get the nod. I have had numerous dealings with Bike Gear Warehouse and they are excellent.

Have a look at pics and video on this site and you'll get a better idea of what some of us have done with pipes and accessories!

What happens on group rides is the stuff of legends and the source of great ribbing and mirth until topped by someone lol

Yes we are very lucky here. Mind you we don't seem to attract to many troll's either.
Oh, and yes you got a bite. Prick.

Re: One more thing....
My wife has Staintunes on her monster with no issues and she's had the bike for 8 years so I think we'd see any problems by now.
Maybe Cams just been damn unlucky.

Re: One more thing....
Mick you are probably right...it's not so much the issue but that they didn't just replace it and be done. Staintunes don't come cheap (about $650 from memory) so I guess I expect a bit more from a premium product. Maybe it was a factory 2nd or something (given Cam's connections) but it carries their name and therefore their reputation.
