More randum stuff
Looking in motor cycle showrooms lately,to me, alot of them have been hit with the ugly stick more than once. We all probably agree what
a good looking bike is ,but the interesting bit is whats you think is a design disaster, ugly or just too weird . They may be great to ride and be
mechanically sound but that's not going to help them here . .Lets keep it to road based bikes so
I wont have to list suzuki V-strom which i hope is function over design. (like a dugong)WE will need a short reason why or it will be like
saying "Jennifer Hawkins " is ugly.5 bad ones should do it ,and maybe one of your best for a comparison.Choices may be up dated.
Here's mine
1st-Harley-D. V-Rod....Bad in showroom ,worse with someone sitting on it
2nd Suzuki B-King...Honey,does my arse look BIG in this.
3rd Honda's new Vfr1200f..That exhaust ,that frontal area ,that well everything.
4th Triumph Rocket Touring... Take the bus its slower but easy er to park. When is big too big,NOW.
5th My aprilia tuono....On certain angles looks like a magnet that's been dragged through a scrap yard.
1st Best...Kawasaki Z900..brutally masculine yet sexy

Re: More randum stuff
1. Honda's VFR1200 just plain boring and please ditch the circular logo
2. Kawasaki's Z1000 modelled on a preying mantis?
3. Harley's Fat Boy it doesn’t have enough power to warrant solid wheels
4. Victory's Vision a Toyota Coaster Bus weighs less
5. Honda's new CB1100 sometimes retro doesn’t work
Best
Suzuki TLR1000 enough angles blended with curves

Re: More randum stuff
all moto guzzi hehehehehe
I look at standed bikes on the showroom floor as a blank canvas
Like the standed bandit. with it big heavy ugly pipe off, it makes a nice bandit look 10x better.
As hard as manufacturers "sometimes" try to make exhausts look good now, there just to big(emissions) & ugly.
so if u dont like a bike only because of the exhaust, screen or fender, etc. change it.
best
B-king. with twin under seat yoshi's, it has a sexy arse

I know what your saying though.
All Guzzies...Sorry only 5 and why ? Remember if your calling Jen. Hawkins ugly you have to tell us your reasons.
And yes i am aware i'm making the rules up as i go along.I'm calling it " Posters Prerogative".Tough rules here.

A mate down this way has a Moto Guzzi MGS01. Beautiful looking bike. Look it up on google images, so much carbon fibre and still a shaft drive.

Some Guzzi's and Buell's are different enough to be sex on wheels.
I like the "non conformist" take it or leave it designs. I'll take it thanks.

Re: More randum stuff
There aren't too many bikes I'd say I really dislike but ......
- Ducati Diablo (or whatever they call it in Italian) - just can't see where this fits or why I'd ever want to buy it
- B-King - I just don't get it (especially as it has the Bandit engine)
- Suzuki DR trailies - I had one as a courtesy bike when the Bandit was servcieed and it was that ferkin' uncomfortable I swore I'd never sell my 27 year old XL185s.
- Not impressed with the Honda VTR1200 - looks like crap and has a rediculously small fuel tank.
- Any bike that incorporates the cat into the muffler or uses the muffler as an emissions device - bullshit!
For the Marilyn Munro machine - TL1000s or CBX1000.

Re: More randum stuff
Good thread to see the different interpretations, my start is with a 76 Z900 (bias), 6 cylinder Honda, Bonville of the mid 70's, Indians of any vintage, any Ducati. Hope I'm not showing too much prejudice to the earlier (thrill) rides!

Ewok: I own a DRZ400E. Whilst Suzuki are now using a piece of 4x2 with blue vinyl over it for the seat the bike is such a jack of all trades.
a 185 has nothing on it other than a nice soft seat.
Reardo: that MGS01 is sexy... pity it's not road registerable
I nominate the Kawasaki Versys.. wtf is it?
The Honda DN01.
Can't think of any other really horrible looking bikes at this time.. will have a think about it

2 Wheels is a glossy advertising brochure for Honda. Always has been. Their forum is just as biasgus wrote:Also just voted 2 wheels BIKE OF THE YEAR..GO figure

Ok, Honda 750 Four Fugly ,just awful.
Kwaka z900 over rated and ugly, nostalgia is a disease.
Anything retro, absolutely anything retro. I dont get this need to be looking backwards to the good old days. THEY WEREN"T THE GOOD OLD DAYS .
Anyone that rides a Bking will never diss it again, very nice.
I haven't seen all retros so I may be swayed later, but I doubt it.
And the bike that is turning my head at the moment (in a big way) Ducati Multistrada 1200. I'd have one in a heartbeat.

Its not just the DRZ with a seat made from 4x2. most dirt bikes r like it now.
I had a KTM exc 525 for 2weeks and a Honda XR 650 for a day about 3-4years ago.
Loved both of them.
the very fast ktm's seat was hard as f*#k.
the XR was the bandit of dirt, IMO. and a lounge like seat, but it was kick start .

I was at a show on the weekend and there was a stand with all the old Kwaka's and I was blown away by how much of a dinosaur they were but at the time they were released they were the sexiest things on wheels!
But I agree there's no way I'd like to ride one now!

I used to always fancy Laverda until i road one.Never ever arm wrestle a Laverda rider they'll crush your hand. There should be a
competition, who can pull in the clutch lever more than 4 times in a row.
d---t ,close.
