BUYING ADVISE Empty BUYING ADVISE

Post  Windingroad Thu 07 Sep 2023, 9:09 am

Hello all,
I'm looking for knowledge about 2007-2012 and 2016 1250 Bandits. I'm currently looking at a 2007 with 6500 miles for $5000 US OBO and a 2016 with 2000 miles $6000 US (not yet knowing if it's negotiable). Are there any known manufacturing issues to be concerned about? Any other information about this generation would be very much helpful and appreciated. Not knowing much about them yet I don't really know what questions to ask,
Thanks to all,
Windingroad

Without knowing the used prices in the US they both seen to be expensive especially the 07. If serviced and looked after they’re pretty bulletproof. There was a rectifier recall on the 07. The frames will be roughly welded and showing signs of rust. The paint all over is thin and the headlights are useless but they’re a good reliable bike.

Thanks. I was thinking the same about the 07 as well. But it is well looked after and with just 6500 miles I thought maybe, but still high. Thanks for the other tips. Anymore would be greatly appreciated as well.

Just replaced my 07, 91,000km with a 2011 , 7500km. $6500.00.
Only real difference between the two is the 07 has lots of alloy, the 11 is black everything.
They don't like living near the sea, some cheap led spots fix the headlight problem. You'd be looking at changing fork oil & seals. Engine & box generally bullet proof.
