Bought another dirt bike
2019 Gasgas EC 300, hopefully pick it up next weekend I do love floggin' around on the road bike, but the dirt has always been where I enjoy my riding the most, and much to my missuses disgust I love riding on my own. Might have to take pics of my limbs while they're still in one piece

I don't know much about GasGas. Can you road register them or not ?

Yes, the model I bought comes factory with all the gear for ADR, though I will only be running Rec Reg.

2019? Nice, I don't hear much about the Gas Gas. For some reason I thought they were not made anymore and were a collectors item.

Nice pick up. I shoot a couple fairly regularly at the local mx ride park. I like Beta but they’re not around here so for a Euro I’d be stuck on a KTM or Husky or Sherco.

Re: Bought another dirt bike
I can't do a 2 smoker dirt bike without a kick start, so Sherco and Beta were out. Though a salesman(droid) at the Ballarat dealership for Sherco, did tell me that I had a mental issue and that I needed to get past it and move on.........so I did, out the door
For personal preference I can't do a Husky, and KTM are overpriced.
I did a lot of research and it seemed like the Gasgas was a better fit, for price and with the goodies it comes with as standard.

Nice...and scary at the same time.
What sort of power do they put out ?
I never grew up on dirt bikes, so it's an alien world for me in some respects. I've owned a few, but by no means have high confidence, in using them to their full potential, apart from trail exploring, and getting home again in one piece.

Re: Bought another dirt bike
I had a Husaberg TE 300 6 years ago and it was a hand full, and I was never going to use it to it's full potential...........I imagine this one is similar or worse<better>
I've rode dirt and road my most of my life, but I do prefer dirt riding

Re: Bought another dirt bike
Took the sucker on it's fourth tour yesterday, still working with jetting as they come very rich from the factory. It's a very nice unit
I did plough into a wire fence yesterday doing about 40kmph, it was across a track that I used to ride and I didn't see it at all.......Till I came to a sudden halt and went flying through the air I usually stand while riding dirt bikes, If I was sitting I think I may have 2 broken wrists, hands and wrists took a beating and the front of my legs when they hit the bars........55 is too old to be going over the bars
Back out in a fortnight to continue with sorting the jets

Re: Bought another dirt bike
I'm envious, I grew up riding in the dirt, learnt to ride on a mates Elsinore 75, then thought I'd hit the big time when I progressed to a AG100, then a AG250
I finally got my own bike, a Honda GL175, then a Kawasaki KL250, then a KX250. Later on a XT250, XT500, XL500, RM250, the XL and RM where my last 2, the XL went in 1990 when I bought my VX800 (one of my biggest regrets was letting that bike go) then the RM a couple of years later. I've been tempted a few times since but not sure my body could cope with what I'd put it through anymore

I get a lot more enjoyment from riding dirt bikes, driving a truck for a living around Melbourne I get to see first hand why I'd rather be in the forest with things that don't move

Re: Bought another dirt bike
Getting out for a trundle on the Gasgas tomorrow I took the DT400 out recently and am getting some new Starcross's for it as the old tyres are getting too hard and making handling poor on an already poor handing scooter
I can't wait for:
Dirt biking.........................check
Beers after dirt biking.........check
Dirty bird for tea................check
Still on holidays.................check
