rego costs by state?

hi everyone,
can i get an indication on rego costs by state?
i thought qld was expensive but ive noticed ACT rego is huge by comparison if i read their confusing website correctly.
im moving state shortly and am bracing for rego pain (2 bikes, 2 cars and a trailer worth of pain)

From what I've seen a 6cyl camry will cost about $1,000.00 for 12 months in Canberra and a Bandit about $700+.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong. In QLD my single seat B1200 costs about $440

Staying in Qld might be the better option.

cheaper rego in qld is meaningless if you dont have a job.

So true - are you headed for Canberra? I know there is a heap of work up around Airlie Beach and the islands after the cyclone.

Very close to it mate. Ill have ti get a sump heater for the bikes.

SA Metro (dearest zone) includes CTP

4 cylinder car;   $719 a year

6 cylinder car;  $846 a year

Motorcycle over 660cc $479

about 10 years or so ago my 800cc bike was dearer to register than my 6 cylinder car, the state government lead a review of actual payouts for CTP claims within SA and all registration categories had their CTP cost adjusted accordingly

result, both cars went up a small amount, bike dropped by about 1/3 IIRC

NSW country region. The following include CTP:

Bandit - $569

Pajero TD - $867

Triton trayback (petrol) - $697

Might as well go back to 2 seats if you leave Qld, that's the only place that has that peculiarity

Aren't utes & vans dearer than normal cars in SA as well ?

I remember reading in one of the 4x4 forums there's a monsterious difference between the States for caravan rego, thousands of dollars in some places.

In NSW, if your camper/trailer is under 750kg, you just pay trailer rego (~$77 PA).  Our 17ft van rego costs $334.

In Vic, caravans only cost trailer rego.

SA any trailer not over 4.5T GTM is the same fee

Juts renewed the B1250...$675 for 12 months in the ACT,

Now explain the huge variations!

As I see it, Victoria has the 2nd largest population and one of the smaller states in area so by rights the costs should be significantly less rather than one of the more expensive when it is averaged out.
