b1200 aux oil line kits
just been studying the SACS system on the oil cooled 1200s. ive noticed there are two seperate and distinctly different oil circuits on this engine.
1 is high pressure lubricating circuit which has no external lines
2 is low pressure but high volume cooling circuit. those two hoses at the back of the valve cover are cooling oil feed lines.
some of the racy looking kits with lots of braided hoses and fittings running everywhere by the looks of things is joining tye two circuits togeather. the hex bolts on the sides of the head are linked to the lube circuit. the single smaller hex bolt in the valve cover just above the rocker shaft bolts is linked to the cooling circuit.
also looks as though the cooling circuit bypasses thd filter.
am I interpreting the diagrams incorrectly? fwik seems these 3+ line kits are mixing high pressure filtered oil with high volume unfiltered oil.
has someone made a colossal error in design?

I haven't had a chance to look at the diagram yet , but given that you only put oil into one place in the motor i.e. the sump , there must only be one source the oil can be drawn from ( no separate oil for the cooling system ) ..............therefore all oil must pass through the filter at some stage . Whatever the system. it seems to work well & has done so for many years .

The oil pump has two chambers. 1 to supply cooling and the other for lubrication.

The two oil lines going to the rear of the valve cover are lubricating the cams and rockers.
