How Long ...............? Empty How Long ...............?

Post  Chook Mon 25 Apr 2016, 7:22 pm

The 11 year Bandit Owner thread and 2WA's "You're probably pushing the record of original ownership too or close to it. How Long ...............? Icon_study" comment got me thinking

A/ What is the longest you've owned a bike for?

B/ What is the longest you've owned a 1 owner bike for (you purchased it new) ?

For me, A/ & B/ are the same answer, 21 years, 2 months, I purchased my VX800 new in Dec 1990 and sold it in Jan 2012 to make way for my Bandit.

By B1250 was my record at 7yrs.
Most of mine would be 5yrs though and "second bikes" about 3yrs.

Current bandit. October 31st 2007 to present. What's sad is the odometer reads 38000 and the paint looks like it has seen 138000. Other than the paint and fairly low kms it still makes me smile and has been very reliable.  I've been tempted to buy a race bike, but with a family know I'll have no license or hurt myself trying to be the next GP rider. I still wouldn't mind trying racing at some point before I exit this earth, just have to find a historical bike that comes at the right price.

Sorry I lied, will be 11 years of owning the B12 in about 6 months.

I owned a Z1000J Kwaka for 32 years after buying new in 1982.
