Luggage Q - Does 1200 mounting gear fit 1250?

Just after a quick yes or no as to whether or not the mounting gear for a top box and panniers from a 2005 GSF1200S would fit on a 2007 GSF1250S. Or would there be modification required?

As the tail of the bike is quite a bit different i would think it wont fit without modifications

Only if it is off the 2006 update 1200 model ( same as the 1250 ) otherwise no it won't without major mods .

The Givi part numbers are different, doubt they would have made a new set if the design of the 1200 fitted the 07 and later models.

BTW if you go looking you will need a 522F top kit and a PL523 side - looks like you can't get the PLX type to suit the kidney shaped V35's for the 1200 either. Even the top plates are different to the 1250's, for the larger Monokey top cases you need a M3 plate, the smaller Monolock cases use the MM plate (on the 1250 these are M5 and M5M respectively).

Having said all that, someone that's good at welding & pipe bending along with a dose of stubbornness can modify anything.
