Scala Rider Teamset Bluetooth Headset
Hi All
Can anyone tell me how many Bluetooth devices I can sync to this my older model Scala Rider Team-set unit. I have a Sena SR10 that I use with it and that works fine but now I have a new Bluetooth GPS that I want to sync directly to the Scala but it looks like it is either the GPS or the Sena, not both. The manual is a bit vague on this but I am getting the idea it may be only one unit. Has anyone got some experience with this or some advice?? Thanks.

Re: Scala Rider Teamset Bluetooth Headset
I've got a Q2, just got my phone and 2nd headset synced to it, I didn't think there was a limit but I could be wrong
Re: Scala Rider Teamset Bluetooth Headset
Did a bit of research into the Sena and it's Universal Intercom Mode. What they have done instead of using the (old-speak) "two-way radio" technology, they use the bluetooth handsfree connectivity. Since most intercoms have some form of hands free mode this allows the Sena to communicate with them. The downside is that you are limited to handsfree range which is a lot less than the rider-to-rider range of the intercoms themselves, and the Sena also takes the place of the bluetooth device that would normally be connected to your intercom, that being the phone or GPS.
Here is an extract from the webbikeworld review :
The Sena "Universal Intercom" function, first reported on webBikeWorld in the description of the Sena Universal Intercom, can be a bit tricky to use since it is using the Bluetooth Hands-Free Profile used in cell phone connections. And don't forget, there are many different Bluetooth motorcycle intercoms available today, so each one may have slightly different quirks.
The Universal Intercom feature affects both the phone connection and the multi-point connection (called the dual phone connection support, mostly used for GPS connections for riders). The bottom line is that you cannot use a multi-point device connection while you are using Universal Intercom.
So I think the answer is you can have either your GPS or the Sena but not both.

Didn't the team set pre date the Q2? If that's the case then only 1 pair

Thanks for the responses
Hi Guys
Thanks for the responses to date. The Team Set is quite old which I bought off eBay some time ago so yes it definitely pre-dates the Q2. That being the case I think that Jim is right and it only syncs with one unit. It might be time to raid the piggy bank and buy a newer model headset; maybe a Sena SMH 10 or the newer 10S? Any comments on these models?
