Hi I'm Rod (Chalkie) yes an old teacher who can remember using chalk.
I have a long history with bikes - includes a 250cc single pot BMW, a Kawasaki triple, K1 750 Honda, multiple 900 & 1000 Kawasakis, an FXDC Harley and take delivery of a 2005 1200S Bandit next week, the first Suzie I have owned but regularly rode a 250 suzie motocross and trail bike around agricultural shows. Yes, suffered a mad moment of nostalgia! Used to be known by my Dad as autumn leaves because I came down every season.
I live in Melbourne outer east around Ferntree Gully - can anyone recommend a good mechanic for Bandits nearby?
Looking forward to getting to know you.

Welcome Chalkie.
Do I remember chalk...yes, getting hit in the side of the head when talking in class, with chalk, and dusters.
Oh...do teachers still do that??

G'day Mtbeerwah, yep they can still do that but only if they want to sell their house and bike to pay the legal costs. Like you I was on the receiving end of a fair bit of that too.

Welcome aboard.
Is there something in particular you need a mechanic to check?
Otherwise they're pretty straight forward and there is plenty of help and advice here from electrics and mathematical theory (Barry) to blokes who've done exhaust mods or suspension mods and others who've delved deep into the innards of the mill.

Hi 2wheelsagain, just wanted someone who knows the bike well to do an initial full service and tell me if there may be anything major that I didn't identify. Would also like to pickup a workshop manual if anyone has one they're not using.
