Motegi Twin Ring. Anyone been?
I am researching a trip to the Japanese MotoGp.
Airfare works out to be a tad over $1100 return, which is acceptable to me.
The part that looks to be a challenge is actually getting to the track once in country.
The circuit is in the country and quite remote, in terms of public transport.
Has anyone ever been? or know of someone who has?
I would love to hear about your experience, if so.
Wish I had kept up the high school Japanese language skills.

Use Google translate. It works great.
Thinking of doing the same as my wife friend lives in Japan. Haven't thought about the how's and why's though. Getting to the track in Malaysia was pretty tough a couple of years ago , so you should be OK

Lol, Reddog.
We were rich Aussies in Malaysia (Au$ was high) & could taxi everywhere without even considering the cost.
I have heard of $100 watermelon in Japan. I would hate to blow my entire budget on the taxi ride to the track.
I love the adventure of foreign lands, but would like to hear how others have experienced it.

I hear you Bosco, in hindsight we should have done that too. We took a punt on public transport (buses). What a mistake on race day, we got drenched and then the chance of getting a bus back to kl was hopeless. We had to flash down a taxi in the reason and pay a large fair to get back to the hotel. It's a pity the speed train doesn't go straight to the track to be honest.

Car hire, or just too expensive? If internationals were visiting Philip Island, they'd almost have to have a car or bike.

How good is Japan?
I thought it would be super expensive.
Car hire AU $72 a day, including full insurance.
Japan Railway pass AU $248 for 7 days unlimited travel, including Bullet train. Awesome value when you learn that a ticket from Tokyo to Hiroshima is $370.
Airport hotel for first two nights AU $210 for the two of us, breakie included.
The place is cheaper than Australia.
Bonzai !!
