gel seat cushion

Well i have 220km on my new gsx1250fa and love it so far but not crazy about the seat. I have tried airhawk on previous bike and did not like. I am thinking about just a gel seat cushion that sits on your seat NOT in the seat. Sargents seats makes a cushion has anyone ever tried one or anything like it? Any input would be appreciated and i do know a new seat would be best but not an option at the moment. Thanks

Part of the problem with the Bandit seat is that it is too wide. Plus the foam is an inferior type. A good seat upholsterer will be able to make it much better for you.

You have a couple of custom seat options.
Kev is a member here and does great custom work and a mate of mine.
Elsemade are very popular custom seats in the UK. I have seen one first hand on a mates Firestorm. Its a work of art.

I'm running a Sargent seat here. Can't complain about it at all. The stock seat want much chop at all, of you weren't moving around on the seat the inner thighs take a beating

I think it depends on how much "padding" you bring to the party RD. The old me used to be able to knock out 800km days on the stock seat. 500km pulls me up now.
I just feels like it becomes hard over the day. The thighs are ok. The VTR seat looks hard but its more comfortable. I cannt be shagged changing seats now

I don't carry an over abundance of " padding " & don't have much of a problem ...................must have a cast iron butt LOL /my seat did settle in a bit from new though .( I have mine on the high position if that makes any difference )

Kev did my seat for me. Had it reshaped and gel inserts on both cushions. Also had a better custom cover done too.

I have a gel seat over the standard seat and find the ride a whole lot better, softer and that sore rear end has now departed.
