Honda made the v- twin sp's to combat the dominance of ducati in WSB, it's a collectors item becoming quite rare. A good one is still worth 10k, side mounted radiators never worked well for racing though, fuel injection abruptness around town and in traffic was the complaint of many a limp wristed wanna be who forgot that they were riding a race bike with lights and blinkers Cool bike but It's a HONDA And I don't like honda after what they done with my beloved two stroke gp bikes/era!

From $6500- $8000. 6 1/2 for one that needs a bit of TLC and 8 for one that is pretty smick. Usually pretty easy to tell if one has been raced or trashed. Look for the tell tail signs. Mirrors are brand new. Footpegs worn. Indicators have recently been put back on. You will know. Best of luck. Honda make some pretty fine machines. Prices from Red Book.

Bruiser they are as Jason said, literally a race bike. Very, very uncomfortable ( low clip ons, no proper seat ). Great motor, go like stink. If you just want one for 1-200km rides in the hills then they're fine. I rode and almost bought one 6 or 7 yrs ago with Acropovic full system and low kms for $10K. But I found the riding position too radical to part with the cash. Keep in mind I ride a TL1000S and don't find it uncomfortable. The SP2 ( the white one ) is the collectors item and they are commanding more money. The Black/red/silver one however is still around $10k. You should be able to pick up an SP1 for the numbers Hammy mentioned. If your really interested mate, you MUST test ride it.
Better still, keep it in the Suzuki family and buy a TL.

Thankyou Gentlemen.Once again the intelligence on this forum shows it`s colours.
I have looked around and found Sp2`s with less k`s cheaper. This guy is Dreamin`.
JTB you are right.I`m not a young fella and a bit round in the belly .the seating pozzy is a worry.
I do like Suzuki very much, the Bandit was my first and I will never regret it.
Maybe keep looking.
Cheers

As a "trackbike", a VTR would be fantastic.

My vote for a twin goes to the SV1000.
Next evolution of the TL1000 they are a very under rated bike and can be picked up for a good price.
I converted mine to superbike bars rather than the clip ons and now rate it as the best all rounder that I have ever owned.
Worth looking at and test riding. Imo.

Great Bike indeed. More polite than the TL which is why I bought a TL (twice) . Well worth a test ride and $6-7K will get you a bloody good one. Good call Bosco.
