Damn that's gotta piss you off.
Though I not sure if I was more pissed off about the bike falling over or Mike pissing himself laughing while searching for his camera:evil:
As I said the damage is very minor, luckt to have those crash protectors

Trust Hammy to jump to conclusions
Bummer about the bike, at least damage was minimal , I know where his camera would have ended up LOL

That really sucks!
But when you think about it, the bike was tired after such a long trip & wanted a sleep

I would like to know how the f--k it fell over if it was in gear and the side stand was deployed correctly. Very sorry though. Glad the damage was minimemal.

Re: Bathurst - Cowra Trip
I've seen the damage and although minor, its hard to believe the bike just dropped onto its side going by the engine case and crash knob scratches. Both just need a bit of a tidy up with wet & dry and a rattle can respray but until then the scars look nasty.

That's the funny thing, the bike was in gear and the stand was down properly, a good habit I am in.2wheelsagain wrote:I've seen the damage and although minor, its hard to believe the bike just dropped onto its side going by the engine case and crash knob scratches. It stood there fine for a good 5mins or so while I unpacked and found my wet weather pants then repacked. It wasn't until I turned away to put them on that it fell over.
You would think if the stand hadn't been all the way forward it would have fallen straight away.

Mate Im sorry to read of your "fall". What a bummer. Lucky the damage was minimal. Just another reason to hate caravans. As a truck driver....................... I can feel a rant building up. Calm blue ocean, calm blue ocean.

Sorry to hear of this MM, I remember commenting on the great paint job your neighbour did on the topbox.
I am going to get into the habit of not stopping close to the road like I did to photo that echidna and then a bus came passed probably close to 80-90k/hr .... instead the stop needs to be well away from the road ... bugger the photo op or the rain ... I'm going to be anal about it like I am with 1st gear when resting on the side stand.

I've already told him of the damage, unfortunately he's recently had a minor heart attack and wont be back at work for a few weeks.
We could have parked further off the road but that would have put us on the soft shoulder. As it was I was near the edge of the solid bitumen, maybe too close to the edge.
I too am anal about the side stand and 1st gear, that's how I normally stop the engine

Re: Bathurst - Cowra Trip
The sick thing about what I did is that I should have known about the bus coming beacause after sometime previosly, back down the road I had overtaken a .. yeah a BUS, A bloody big BUS .. it was a very lonely road I thought and that in itself is a bad thought when riding a big heavy bike.
shit I think I've got bad short term memory

This is the before shot. He wasn't looking this happy about 20 seconds later when he was lying on the track with bark off everywhere. He was right in front of me and got the biggest dose of tank slappers before performing a very unceremonious dismount. Dickhead, serves him right.Hammy wrote:
