Flying Hubcap
A couple of weeks ago I was following a Kenworth prime-mover in a 50k zone - just me and the Kenny.
Out into the 100km/h zone. The Kenny pulls away ....120k. I follow 150m behind, and I'm in no hurry.
Wo!! from the right side of the Kenny launches a large chrome disc, straight up about 5 meters. A circular saw the size of a garbage tin lid!
Damn! a Kenny hub cap.
It touched down on edge ~10m ahead of me, bounced and turned sharply across the oncoming lane and in the air again. Last seen in my wing mirror with a Ford Territory on the brakes going the other way.
Next few minutes spent thinking of fingers (ouch) helmet, knee and more!!
Then enjoyed the rest of the trip on the mighty Bandit. The Kenny had disappeared.

Re: Flying Hubcap
Cheers fellas.
A rare hazard fortunately.
In the few seconds it took all I did was observe.
I think I did move to the left side of the road and slowed. I can't remember, I just had my eyes glued on the soaring disc.
I thought the Kenny might stop to retrieve the hub cap, but he was really hiking along.
GG
