My personal experiences with ALDI are they provide good after sales service and warranties.

I'll be there at 7:30am for a store opening of 8:00am

Unfortunately every year it lands on a weekend I'm working :-(  so I wont be able too get in there until the Monday after, when most of its all gone.

The only product i wouldnt buy is the Adli helmets.... you only get what you pay for, and that is way too cheap a price to put on ANYONE'S head.... The other stuff is pretty good though.

Had no success finding reliable reviews of the helmets, if I find anything I'll post it here. One good point someone made on another forum is the matter of weight.

Some of the stuff may well be worth a look. Interested in the camera, could go well with the HD170 I already have, enable me to record behind me as well as ahead.

I've bought a lot of their gear over the last couple of years, all well worth the money IMHO. 

As always, you've got to be quick, especially with the jackets.  Thermals are great - slow sellers so they are usually in the store long after everything else is gone.  Even got one of the helmets (as a third spare) - seems okay to me, plus they couldn't sell them if they were not type approved.

A hint for those in Canberra, try the Weston Creek store, the demographics out that way means there are less people interested in this type of gear.

Unfortunately there is no Aldi down here in Tassie

Bloody Aldi! My girlfriend went to 4 different stores early his morning to get me a XL size leather jacket. Best she could do was an L. I doubt it'll fit 

Shit shit SHIT! I had a nephew visit this morning, showing us his thousands of photos of Europe, and I totally forgot Aldi sale!!! Grr, i needed some more socks.

After joining the 50 meter long queue before the store was open, managed to get 2 pair socks , pair of jeans and a 2 piece rain suit. We've all seen the Myers christmas sale on the tv, well this morning was the same. Bedlam

picked up another rainsuit, some socks, and a balaclava. It was fairly orderly, no one pushing or shoving, even some friendly chit chat between fellow cyclists!

The gloves where very bizarre.
I couldn't get my hand into the Large, but I could the Medium (although very tight)
So left them behind

Yep ,last year, xl pants had xl legs, and med waist .Made me think the stock was seconds .Xl socks were long but too tight .
Beware .

I miss my Aldi......

Bloody amazing how they seem to be sold out minutes after they open. A couple of people even saw one guy trying on leather jackets and then walked straight out without paying.

From personal experience I have determined that if you want one of the "special buys" you need to be at the shop early.

I purchased an electric barbeque and an electric wok last week.

For a shop opening time of 8.00am, I arrived at 7.30am and was the third person there.

By 8.00am there were about 30 people lined up at the doors.

When the doors opened (at precisely 8.00am) it was like the boxing day specials years ago where people ran into shops to scoop up a bargain.

There were around 30-40 electric barbeques and around 20 electric woks for sale. I got one of each. I walked around the shop about 2 minutes later and all of the woks were gone and 3/4 of the barbeques were also gone.

I reckon Aldi are very good at estimating sales quantities and most items are sold on the first day. It is probably good business practice to understock rather than be left with surplus.

Should be interesting to see how you pack them on the Bandit for the next camping trip!
