new fella from south ozz
g,day everyone, just bought myself a very nice 2000 model 1200..ive come from a twenty year history of riding and owning older style harleys..id been thinkn of gettn out of the harleys and goin back to the jappers for a couple of years,i got so sick of spending so much time spinning the spanners instead of riding and not to mention the amount of money i was spending..i tell you,,when i turned fifty last year i had enuff full stop.i sold everything including my helmet and jacket and tools, bike lift....big mistake..i ended up continually looking at jap bikes on the old gumtree and other places,i started riding when i was 13 on a suzuki a80 or a100..and found myself wanting to go back to a suzuki so thats what i did, bought the 1200 two days ago.got my leather jacket back from my brother to,he was happy to sell it back to me..so here i am.hopefully ill be doing a lot more riding on this bike...

Welcome mate. The Suzukis are bloody reliable and you'll spend more time riding than ever. Great bunch of helpful people on this site so there's always an answer to any (rare) issue.

Welcome to the group. I've had a fair few Suzukis from a Katana 650 back in the early 80's to a GSX1250FA now. They have all been great and never a mechanical issue. Laurie

Hello and welcome to the forum. Now of course you'll have to start waving or head nodding to acknowledge other riders

believe it or not,i am from that era where we always acknowledge other riders,id either raise a hand or give a nod, dont matter to me what you ride, what i cant stand nowadays is the fact that everyone seems to have a harley then they dress up as pirates,i mustve really stood out riding my old bike with a fullface, most times noone would acknowledge me..yeh harleys in my book aint as special as they used to be when there wasnt many people with them..overpriced,under-engineered,pieces of poo..

Re: new fella from south ozz
oh yeh,,i forgot to thank everyone for giving me the nice welcome to the bandit forum,,thanks everyone,i really appreciate it,i probably wont be on as much as id like to be for the rest of the month, someone been watchn to much porn on my computer and used up way to much of my credit,im upgrading next month and doubling my gigabytes..the missus and me hoping to get away for a three month trip up to cooktown then across to broome down the west coast and back across the nullaboar, not on the bike either, got an old gq patrol and campertrailer.hopefully ill still be able to be kept informed of whats happening on the forum as we will have the laptop with us and whenever we get a signal ill pop in for a look..i have a very crook back and a avm growing around my spinal chord which is causing havoc with my legs,my bladder and other things, apparently its a very rare disease, growth whatever you wanna call it..need to get in as much as i can before i cant walk ive been told..this growth is called an arterial venous malformation,,anyone else got one let me know and we can compare symptoms..would be good to catch up someday paul, maybe we could meet up halfway..
