Wanted 2008 Bandit Seat any condition
Posting this for another member (Dingo1963) who unfortunately has had an accident last Thursday and his 2008 Bandit has been written off. It has a custom seat that he would like to retain, hence he wants a 2008 seat to refit to the written off bike. Anyone who can help, please contact myself. PM me here if you can help, we are both in Brisbane.
Dingo1963, is doing well given he broke his pelvis and right femur. Surgery yesterday has him feeling good under the circumstances. I'll be seeing him tomorrow from which time he will have internet access again, hence why I am posting for him to get a head start on finding a seat.

Cheers. Sorry, should have added some extra detail he was hit by a car at an intersection. One of those just going for a quick trip locally kind of things and bang out of nowhere comes a car.

Umm - maybe the "seat just fell off and didn't get recovered"?? Can you just get it? Very dodgy, but otherwise can a bike wrecker give you a seat cheap? Does it matter if it doesn't fit?? Would anyone know???
Bugger me - the bike is stuffed (as happened to a fellow rider out in Litchfield 2 weeks ago). There are parts that I didn't bother picking up!!! Headlight frame (smashed to bits), mirrors (broken) etc left on the side of the road and the seat was "rooted". At the time I dinked him back to the caravan Park (and looking back was a pretty stupid thing to do) and a fellow bikie out for the day helped ride his bike back to the caravan park (Dunno how he did that as the forks are stuffed) but I didn't bother going out out and pick up the bits when I got his bike in my trailer.
End state - he has a shattered "clavicle" (Shoulder Blade), and seems fine. But the Bike has about $6000 damage
Hope that yourmate is OK (and TOG - how are you too after your bingle)????
Cheers

The insurance company already has the bike but are allowing access to it apparently. Another friend has already stripped most things from the bike, the seat is the last thing he wants to have recovered/replaced.
Dingo1963 was having a hard time of it yesterday. Lets just say the imprint his manhood left on the tank is mighty impressive and explains why he has to rest with his legs wide apart. Just as well he has all the children he wants.
Personally I am going well in recovery, but have to sell my bikes for the time being. Cannot ride a sports bike anymore as I will never be able to comfortably bend my legs. The cruiser (wife's bike) is being sold as my accident has cured her of wanting to ride/pillion again and cruisers are not good for my back. Assuming my license is not revoked on medical grounds I'll probably consider a VStrom style bike and do more adventure style riding instead of sports bike riding. Sort of take me back to my MTB days of riding in places with nothing but a sense of adventure.

Wanted 2008 Bandsit 1250 seat
Thanks to TOG for the post on my behalf. I am now in recovery mode, with 4 weeks hospital bed rest.
Saw photos of the bike, sure was shortened up a bit in front. Panniers look okay, so if price is ok from insurance company, I will buy them back.
I am now looking for a replacement with low k's. Anyone looking to sell, please PM .
