turtle - Turtle Wax Ice Empty Turtle Wax Ice

Post  Jimmy the Boy Fri 29 Mar 2013, 2:30 pm

Gday and a very happy and safe Easter to All. Well I'm probably going to open a can of worms here because everyone has a favourite wax or polish they like to use but I'd like to put Turtle Wax Ice out there as a major contender. Having used the lot over the years ( Maguires, Auto Glym, Mothers, & so on ) I can safely say this stuff has blown me away with the results. affraid A mate of mine who has had a heap of mint condition bikes polished to within an inch of existence won a tub of this ICE at a golf day. With a ho hum yeah whatever another bloody polish attitude, he didn't use it for a while. THEN came down to my house after using it, threw the tub at me and said, " get this shit on your Bandit asap it is bloody unbelievable! " Needless to say he was 100% correct. Goes on easily, wipes off easily ( cloths are in the kit ) but here is the clincher.................With the other products you have to be so careful not to get any on your black plastic or rubber components because of that white streaking thats impossible to remove. Well this stuff is made for the duco, plastic, screen, indicators everything!! And it brings them up like brand new. I had the entire bike done in 20 mins. I haven't had it on there long enough to see how it performs over time but initial results are mind blowing. I'd be really interested to see what other members think of this product or if there is a negative about it because I can't seem to find one so far. Have a great holiday everyone, Jimmy. Very Happy Very Happy

I use the Ice and my bike is often mistaken for new after 6 years of riding in all weathers. It is great on the screen as well as paint. I really rate it. Cleaning is a cinch, easy on and off and no powdery residue (I sound like an infomercial). I also use IP-One Renovator on plastics for a new look. Better than Pledge!

Great on the car too. Like wiping off water, really. It's not got cutting compounds so you can use it as much as you want. A bottle lasts ages

Just an update on the TW ICE. I went to buy some and could only find the liquid. I think this is what Kewwig is referring too. I used the paste and I liked the way it went on so I'll be hunting a bit further for it.

Yes, a clear liquid like almond oil in appearance. Gave my bike a clean with it today, and used it on everything including rims, headlight, screen etc. I use it on my family car too. Much easier than wax

After all the comments, is it the liquid or the paste which is best.

Paul, Ive only used the paste and I've ordered a tub online. I'm imagining the paste probably goes on a bit thicker than the liquid and lasts longer. I'm really pleased with the finish of the paste but you can bet the liquid is just as good. It's not a cheap decision as its $40 a bottle but The liquid is a lot easier to find. Just a side note, this is how effed up Australia is... I can by a tub of paste online in the UK and get it posted to my door in Wagga for $30. Thats 25% cheaper than any shop here. What a joke. Chris, it looks like the turtles are slower and easier to catch over there.

There seems to be a good range of ICE products available. I might give the "between" spray a try soon.

What is the finish like?

A nice deep finish. What I like about the liquid is ease of application and it goes on everything, whereas wax and black plastic aren't great mates. I use wax as well from time to time but the Ice is the polish of choice. I am Mr Clean Freak and it's the best product for me and I have tried a lot.

The pictures here show the finish I get with Ice. It's as good 3 years later, and yes, I ride it all year round in NZ winters!

Same here.
I should post a pic of my 14yr old RF900R. It looked brand new until I stuck it in a tree.
The Maguiars stuff is awesome.

Crimsondawn the great thing about the ICE is it rejuvenates everything to looking brand new and wet look, not just the duco. Theres a heap of plastic on bikes & thats where the pain was but not anymore. Mirrors, covers, indicators, even the master cylinders look like I've replaced them. Im not saying there isn't anything better on the market but for ease of application, plus it makes every part of your bike come up like new, its easily the best product I have personally used.

You know the pine tree scents you get for the car?
Well I got the whole tree Laughing

They're still an awesome bike even against todays offerings in my opinion.

Very funny Chris. I nearly had a similar moment the other week, but it would have been closer to the scent of eucalyptus. The Red gums and Jarrahs over here in the west would do a job on you considering what they do to cars that they happen to jump in front of.
