Black Dog ride. Dardanup
Went to the black dog today. Never again, good cause but too many people with no idea how to ride. Anyhow left early rode some pretty nice roads to the Wellington dam. It was super foggy, so I ripped out the geek phone and took a pic of the bike. Saddled back up and about 7km down the road had a big front end lose on some gravel. Managed to keep it upright and on the black stuff Abs helped as well. Anyways the highlight of the day

Good to hear you didn't end up face down in the dirt reddog. Sounds a bit scary.

Isnt it a shame, that after the obligatory safety talk, guys still fuck everything up? I was following speed and position and still had harleys passing me. Shame my vid cam messed up, cause id have proof.
Great photo of the bike.

Yeah we had 600 odd bikes, they ran out of Winstons for prepaid riders and refunded their money. I got sick of 40-60kph on some of my favourite roads. Met up with some old riding buddies in Nannup and we took the scenic trip home through Greenbushes an grim wade rather than follow the slow ride to Busselton. You can see why not many sports bikes show up because they over heat at those speeds. If the ride could have stuck to the posted speed limit I would have stayed. If I had a camera there were some pretty stupid overtaking manoeuvres made mainly by knob heads riding Harley's.

that sounds like what we had at the Penrith ride. there were around 400 (est.) bikes.
I'm not a fan of group rides at the best of times - I enjoy the solitude of riding alone, however for 1 ride a year I grin & get on with with. there was one particular cruiser rider (not sure of make/model - I don't take that much notice), that made a habit of burnouts at traffic lights, then weaving through everybody to get ahead only to stop on the side of the road waiting for the group to pass so that he could weave in & out again!
*cough* tosser
although the ride was meant to be from Panthers to Panthers, the group all stopped at Mt Victoria - except for a few of us. I was glad to get some open road in front of me, & took off to the finish & away from the idiots.
there were plenty of plods around too - saw one down the M4 standing at the front of his car, which was backed into the hedge & was well hidden
i have 2 hours of video, so if i get really really bored & go through it i may post some up.

Hi Boomer, I went on the Penrith ride too, but stopped for fuel just after we left Panthers so we ended up right at the back all on our own. Had a great ride up Bells Line and arrived at Mt Victoria just as people were starting to leave. By the time we had eaten lunch everyone was gone and we had the road to ourselves again (apart from all the regular traffic!). I'm not a big fan of organised rides on that scale either, but the cause was a good one.

@ Paul maybe mate, it was about 7 degrees when I took that shot. I took the shot because I wont be riding in the morning on that road in the near future
If @Reardo or anyone else comes over this way that is a nice section of road too.
I thought the next photo of the bike was going to be it all smashed up after my front end lose. Put the dirt bike experience into practice and kicked out the left foot to stop the heavy bitch sliding down the road and pulled it up before heading off the black stuff
