Mechanic recommendation in Western Sydney.
Hey guys. The GSX is coming up for her 1000km service and the dealer I bought the bike from is a long way out of my way. Westerns at Penrith would be my closest. Any reviews or recommendations of others in Western Sydney?
Cheers,

Re: Mechanic recommendation in Western Sydney.
My dealer was 140km away and it was a good excuse for a ride.
Fact is any accredited shop can do a warranty service. Just have them stamp the book.
1000km is 20 mins work. Oil & filter (go for mineral again IMHO) and a check over. Even a HD shop should be capable of that.

Mick Dyer in Coreen ave has a good reputation, haven't used them though as I do my own servicing.

Thanks BoomGT I'll give him a look for the other services but I think I'll take it back to Bowral for the 1000km. I expect his services would be ok for the Suzuki warranty??
2WA - Why do you recommend the mineral oil? I'm not a mechanic by any means, but I'd always heard that fully synthetic was best. Or is that just a car thing?

@DCQ................................ because mineral oil will allow everything to bed in properly.........synthetic or semi synthetic after 12,000 km

Well based on that response, I'll just accept Mineral Oil for first 12000

If you're getting it done at a workshop, you'll get what the Mechanic recommends/uses.

Not if you take your own oil and watch them do the service. If they don't let you watch the service being done, take it elsewhere. Don't use synthetic until you've done several oil changes. Also don't pussy-foot her either, give her the berries son and the motor will run sweet. If you spare the rod, she'll be soft and piss-weak.
