Harley riders (some of em anyways)
No wonder bike riders and especially Harley riders get tared with the same brush and the same comments keep coming out similar to "those guys are fuckwits"
Coming home from Bunnings about 10 mins ago driving in a 70 zone with someone next to me, both of us doing 70 (well I expect so as my speedo said 70)
After following for a short while, Harley rider with pillion decides that he needs to split between us - cause we are obviously not going fast enough for him - with the amount of noise turned up to full bore (heard him change down 2 gears and rev the goonta out of his bike as he went through) then once on the other side little miss perfect on the back shakes her head followed by mr muscle steering the ship deciding that flipping us the bird was in order.
Complete tossa IMHO and one of those fuckwits that gives all bike riders a bad name.
end vent

They always want to go faster than you, well it seems so to me, I'm just waiting until I have to drag one of them out of the bushes one day.

I love hd riders especially on the lovely curvey roads we have down in southern nsw eastern vic, when they try to out handle you. It just brings tears of laughter. Pumps are never suppose to be made into motorcycles

Re: Harley riders (some of em anyways)
I was following one on Cattai Ridge Rd. in the Ford wagon, with the leaf spring rear suspension, last Saturday. When he realised I was catching him he ended up on the wrong side of the road on a left hander then nearly went off into a tree on a right hander a little further on, so I backed off a bit. Didn't want to ruin our romantic weekend by attending a crash.

I can't believe he revved his tractor engine to it's 5500rpm limit That's dangerous
I rarely get to ride with any thing but Harley's, As I have friends & family with Harley's.
My uncle is VP of the local club. So get to meet a lot of Harley rides. I'd say that up to 20% of blokes who order a new Harley order a new attitude with there bike!!!
Example: On a 700km 2day ride last year, There was 8 rides. 1 bandit, 7 Harley's. 2 new new Harley owners, one new owner of Bike & attitude tried to keep me behind him all day. It was fun letting him think his $30,000 Air compressor was fast But I had set things straight when he tried blow me to the weeds with a full noise fly-by (All-noise ).
It's even more funny to see some ones head whip around to see you ride pass them as they still on there fly-by!

$30,000 air compressor Reardo, thats the best one I've heard.
For what its worth heres my 2c on Harley owners. Like Reardo I have great mates with Hardleys, my brother went from a Gixxer to a Harley (work that one out ). The thing is, wankers come in all shapes and sizes and it just so happens that a greater proportion of them ride Harleys and the size is usual XXL. But as we all know there are also plenty of dickheads on Jap/German/Italian bikes giving riders a bad name. So in summing up, you don't need to wear a little gay leather vest covered in badges to be a wanker, but it sure as Hell helps!

Ah yes.
My day out with 2 Harley riders. The dude went from a GTR1400 to his Harley. Said it was the best thing he ever did.
Pity my $5000 GSF1200S left him in the dust both on the straights and in the corners.
This was after telling me that the harley handled great and was quick.
After the ride I was asked if the bike was modified. He didn't believe me when I said no.

Re: Harley riders (some of em anyways)
Just remind them the majority of their bikes are actually manufactured in India with Hyosung, BMW's, and other brands..
'Harley Davidson India's plant has become a necessity in the wake of competition from other niche motorcycle brands such as BMW, Kawasaki, KTM and Hyosung. The Indian plant will help Harley Davidson bring down production costs and hence the price of its motorcycles.'

Rather ride a rice burner than a curry in a hurry!!!

Re: Harley riders (some of em anyways)
It's an old saying but very appropriate.
If you own a Harley, buy a ute, if you have a mate with a Harley, buy a trailer also. Because you're gonna need em.
Most of my mates owned 1 at one time or another and all were heaps of shit.(the bikes I mean)
Now they have become the mid-life crissis add on:shock: Made to look good and make a big noise and fuck all else:!:
The harley has been 1 of the greatest marketing ploys in history:suspect: Nothing against cruisers, they have a place and can be fun to ride but why a Harley when there are good reliable makes out there that do everything better.
See how many Harley riders give you wave back on the open road.

We always work on the basis that those who don't lift a hand to wave are simply too afraid to take one hand off the bars in case the barge crashes......

Could you imagine that, no point in a tilt tray attending, you'd need one of those maxi cranes!

Exactly what annoyed you?
The fact a motorcycle wanted to go faster than a car? It was a Harley? or the rider and pillions attitude after passing you?

Re: Harley riders (some of em anyways)
I guess over the years I have had my fair share of mixing with most areas of the motorcycling communities , be it either....... trail riders, patch & ex patch members , sport bike , or just your average joe / joette on a UJM out for a ride or commute . What I have found is there are good & bad in all camps & even taking into account each camps biased opinions , most riders are just that ...riders , with a common interest . Sure there are wankers ......in all forms of motorcycling............as there are in car drivers ......and a certain amount of ribbing / piss pulling is expected , but bikes are bikes & I for one are glad to have been part of them most of my life .I have had some great times with all motorcyclists at different times' & if I come across a wanker ..................move on. ( build a bridge & get over it )............ regardless of what bike they ride .
PS. hope I didn't kill this thread with my opinions( but we all have em )

For me personally it was that he split between two cars traveling at
the speed limit, making the most noise he could and then both giving us
attitude as if to say "Fucken wankers"
The fact a motorcycle wanted to go faster than a car?
Couldn't give a hoot in reality, his license and money, not mine.
It was a Harley?
Really don't give a rats about what kind of bike it was, a bike is a bike and it's riding one that matters to me. I would have vented if he was riding a scooter
or the rider and pillions attitude after passing you?
This is probably the crux of it all, if he had of just riden off I would have thought "tosser" and left it at that
