Time For A Change.
Well I didn't think it would come this quick, but I have the urge to get onto another bike. Don't worry, it will be a Bandit again. There are so many good deals out there and I still think that the Bandit is the best " Bang for your Buck " around. Jan has finally found a nice Gladius that we are pretty certain she will buy. About time! I am looking around for a tidy 1250. After just about doing all that I can to good ol' "Rosie", I will let her go and start another chapter. I haven't even thrown my leg over a 1250 yet, but I know that I will be more than happy with one. From what I have learnt here from you wise lot, I'm sure that I can bring one up to the standard that "Rosie" has set. Anyway. Thats my current plan. Hopefully I can find one in the next week or two. Ready for an overnight trip to Drake and surrounding areas on the 1st of Dec'. Will keep you posted.

Very exciting - will you be looking at getting another "S" model?

Yes, I think so Ewok. I like the look of the S's. Mind you. I have been known to take a liking to nakedness now and then.

Good luck.
There seems to be a heap of cheap bikes around at the moment.
Im wondering why you're limiting your choice though?

Thanks 2W. I'm not limiting my choice. I have givin it quite a lot of thought and weighed up the pros n cons. At this point in time I cannot find another bike in the same price range ( that is not the only factor ) that fits the bill. My '06 is basically the same frame and suspension as the '07 1250, so I kinda know what to expect, but hopefully with a mor refined powerplant and that extra gear. Sorta like trading in the missus on a newer model. The cookin' and cleaning will be the same. But when the lights go out ! WAM BAM thank you MAM.

And hopefully the missus is not a member here that you know off.
I know what you mean about the looking around at different bikes. I keep thinking about what my next bike will be, should I go something sportier like a GSXR (and also use it for commuting and get rid of the GS500) or more tourer like a GTR1400. Bandit is just that good compromise of both IMO. It will do the long haul really well and give me enough fun in the twisties (the GSXR would be wasted on me I reckon).
Good luck with the search.

Yes, a bike... Triumph 1050 Tiger, red...to make it go faster, but I'm thinking my Bandit can beat it

OK. Back on topic. I rang the dealership today which had a 1250 that I was interested in. A BLACK one Paul. And the buggers sold it on me yesterday. Never mind. I'm sure there is one out there with my name on it. And by the way. Jan went and checked out the Gladius today and put a deposit down on it. Yipppeeee. Let the good times roll.

If they want a sale , surely they will get another one in for you especially as you,re buying Jan's bike as well ................(how much were they selling it for if you don't mind me asking there are some really good deals around )..............I found a good coating of a protective wax as soon as possible was a good idea on the new soft black paintwork mine came with .

Different bike shops Paul. You see we have more than ONE bike shop up here in the " Super State ". Not too many late model 1250's around at the moment though. A short time ago there were heaps. Guess bikers found out what a good buy they are. I'm in no rush. One will turn up. Rosie is really a great bike now with the mods that I have given her. It will be a sad day when I let her go but we don't have room for SIX bikes. Jan is keeping her V Star. Sentimental reasons.
