New bloke - Brisbane
G'day all,
This forum was recommended to me by "ThatOtherGuy" so here I am.
I bought a '12 Bandit in late July after a 9 year break from riding (Work, family, No time... usual excuses). The bike is stock except for sheep on the seat (Velcro is on order) and a homebrew Supercheap radiator guard which I found on this forum. The missus is complaining that the bike is too quiet so I'm also looking at a Delkevic slip-on at some point in the future. Isn’t it great when the missus complains the bike is too quiet :-)
Been spending a bit of time getting acquainted with the bike doing short trips for the past few months, and on the weekend managed a couple of decent rides. One to Maroochy via Montville two up with the missus, and on Sunday with the neighbour and his mate out through Dayboro, Mt. Mee, Somerset and Mt. Glorious for the return leg. Had a great time on both rides and can't believe how easy the bike is to ride, I just need to nip up the rebound a bit more on the rear and all will be good.
Cheers Adam

Yeah when I was looking to buy there was a bloke that had an '09 with a Delkevic can on it, and it sounded great - that and the price is what swayed me.
Just not sure what else I need for it though. I've heard that I need a seal/ gasket because the original is impossible to get out without destroying it. Also, there are some subtle differences between mine and the earlier water cooled models, some of the wiring harness is different (connector wise), I'm guessing this is because of the FA model.
So I hope the Delkevic comes with a center stand stopper and the bracket locations are the same as previous models

Welcome aboard.
You can get the woven gasket out but it takes time and a long bladed Stanley knife type. For the sake of $20 I will just buy another next time. Don't forget to ad a bit of sealer and expect some pop and crackle on the over run. I like the amount the Beowulf produces

Adam,
Welcome aboard, BCNU in Bne Nth.....
I'm back on too - after 12 yrs.
The traffic has changed. Flicked my highbeam the other day behind a right lane hogger. & bugger me, she changed lanes & let me through.

Yeah traffic is a lot heavier than I remember it thats for sure. I find that if you don't push in they tend to let you in anyway, sure you get the occasional try hard that has an attempt at blocking you, but these - thankfully - are rare.
A wave works wonders when they do let you in. I've had the same bloke let me merge at the same place heaps of times, maybe he is a rider too, or maybe he just likes the thank you wave. Dunno

New Bloke
Hello Adam,
Welcome to the forum. That Other Guy gets about, he also told me about the site. It would be good to catch up on a ride one day.
