how do i stop buffeting ?
Took the wife for first ride on the bandit today , just a quick spin to Clayton for coffee and back .
So much more comfortable than our old zx6r ! but noticed some buffeting of my head , on the way home she tried moving her head sideways a little ( to see a bit more ) and it seemed to stop the buffeting a fair bit.
Anybody else had similar experience or put on different screens to combat this ?

how do i stop buffeting ?
I used to get some buffeting with the OEM screen in certain circumstances & changed to a powerbronze double bubble . It now is better for solo & my wife prefers it as well , but I have found in some wind conditions I can still get some buffeting with my wife on the back .

Yep it can take some playing around.....I put a bigger screen on an earlier bike of mine & it directed the wind over me & straight onto my wife`s head & made her look like one of those noddy dogs on the back .....needless to say that one didn't last long

Re: how do i stop buffeting ?
I changed my screen to Givi screen and found the buffetting worse at all speed up to 140kmph (tested at the track of course). Beyond that it was better. So I reverted to the standard screen. For solo riding the total package needs to work in harmony and maybe that extends to two-up as well - I don't know because my wife doesn't pillion. With the standard screen the wind doesn't hit me in the helmet/face area but in the chest so I get very little buffetting of the helmet. I'm ok with that and don't want to go for a super large screen that would protect my head/helmet area (being 6ft 2in tall) - unless I was on a Goldwing of course).

I changed helmets to a shark RSR2. Fixed buffetting and my helmet no longer tries to rip my head off at higher than legal speeds.
I've heard people play with screen and spend lots of $'s only to find it's better without a screen at all.

I've got one similar to this:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Windshield-WindScreen-SUZUKI-GSX-1400-SV-650-1000-BANDIT-GSF-650-1200-1250-/110888025627?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19d170fe1b
On my Bandit, which works well when the wife is on the back, but not as well as I would like when solo. It was fitted by the previous owner Dingo1963 and is apparently far better than the standard screen.
I'd probably consider one of these if replacing it:

Re: how do i stop buffeting ?
I've prevented problems with pillions by putting the seat cowl on... (oh yeah, i dont HAVE any pillions, but it stopped husband's idea of ME riding behind HIM)
BTW, nice looking setup you have, and matching helmets too huh? We did the same when we bought the Tiger, but the helmet is no good with the Suzuki OR the Honda cb400, so perhaps it was more suited to a different posture.
