Help with 2nd hand Ventura Rack please
Hi Guys,
After some help if I could please.
The Bandit I just bought came with a Ventura rack but it wasn’t fitted. When I’ve gone to fit it I removed the grab handle and the Ventura L brackets fitted into the rubber grommets left by the grab handle and bolted up fine.
The trouble is the posts that stick up are only about 235mm apart, whereas the posts on the rack (that fit into them) are around 260mm apart?
Is there supposed to be extra spacers or something to move the L brackets further apart?
Thanks Neil

No i'd say you have the wrong rack for the bandits L brackets. The bandit uses a narrower rack

Look for a sticker with a number on the rack, it should say "12", any other number it is the wrong size.

nice looking bike MM!!
Yep, that's the one I have.... looks the same and it is #12 as well
I wonder why the brackets are so close together.... can't see an easy solution

Hmm, here is a shot of mine before I changed to a full Givi setup:
The "L" brackets have a welded on spacer that should setup the correct spacing for the rack(s), there might have been one flat washer between the bracket and the gromet - can't remember.

Re: Help with 2nd hand Ventura Rack please
thanks guys..... yr help is very much appreciated!! seems the problem is that I'm missing some spacers inside the rubber grommets
as per the importer-
I think you need to check the spacers are still fitted in the rubbers
The l brackets should not actually go into the rubbers the oem spacers should hold them pround and correct the width problem

As you took the grab handle off, what happened to the spacers? Was the handle on there originally without them?

I've bought a bike with the same setup- is that part of the bike strong enough for the rack and bag? I worry about it and am considering a top box - when finances are available and the treasurer approves of course.
