Re: wanted...........
Whats wrong with the stock filter? Just cut out a big hole in the air cleaner cover and it's as good as any K&N

Just ordered a new K&N ($40) plus a new air clener top ($45) - just in case my surgery on the original box doesn't work out

Ah yes. Good point.
Re: wanted...........
I got the K&N from Dahlitz Motorcycles in Queanbeyan (NSW). Had to go over the boarder to get some exhaust gaskets as the "big" dealer in Canberra didn't carry them in stock. Not sure what the price of the K&N usually is but it sounded reasonable to me, as opposed to the exhaust gaskets at $10 each.
Re: wanted...........
Went to pick up the air filter - it was a standard paper one - not the K&N, hence why the price was so cheap. So I have now ordered a SU-6000 (1200 Bandit style) on line, hopefully it will be here next week - won't put up the price after my fiasco with the Arrow Headers - I think that ad company for Great Wall 4WDs is after me for their next campaign .
Not one dealer in Canberra has either a 1200 or 1250 K&N, I think moving to Tassy is not going to be that remote in getting bike parts after all.
Sorry if this info might have been posted before but here is a comparison between the 1200 SU-6000 and the 1250 SU-6505:

Re: wanted...........
just a silly question,as i don`t own a water model,
thats a fair bit of restriction between the two, but is the shape of the airbox on the water models volume(not lid surface) shaped like that, and there is no gain by having the 1200?
or are they really the 1200 shape, and you are loosing potential air flow?
obviously they are the same as the 1200 wouldn`t fit!
