Re: Chain guard
Clever Paul .
Look at the space at the front from chain to guard .Its huge , no wonder the chain sprays lube everywhere .
I measured my Aprilia ,space 15 mm --- Suzuki 50 mm .
No wonder the guard looks big .And i have already cut 25 mm from the length .
I have no idea why Suzuki thought that was a good design .(because its not )
Ive been looking at those slots for a while now a decided to lower the guard and change the slots .(not into huggers ,show me the wheel )
This is how it looks at the moment .

Re: Chain guard
I was looking at it for ages trying to figure out what it was you were talking about and now you have mentioned it Gus I can see it as plain as the nose on my face. There is a very pronounced gap.
Re: Chain guard
Imagine how it looked after i looked at my Aprilia ,15mm space .

Re: Chain guard
The slots look a lot better. So does the unpainted hub.
Not sure I see the benefit of lowering the guard but if it floats your boat go for it.

Re: Chain guard
Gus, you could sit it further down by another 20 or so mm by the look of it. Trim more and drill another hole in the middle of guard in left hand end.

Re: Chain guard
The two brackets cause a problem . I may have to cut them off and replace them further in .
I plan on re- carboning it so i may do some panel work with a big hammer .

What about the position of the tyre valve ? Would'nt it look better if you moved it to the right 100mm ?

Or get rid of it altogether, its pretty unsightly
Gus that guard looks much better, I'd do the same but my plans include a hugger.

Much better than the original. Now make some more and list them on Ebay. The work you do will certainly end up with you needing more shed space and an accomplis.

Sooner or later Gus is going to run out of parts. Then it will be time for him to move onto a new bike. Looks good by the way.
