Oggy Knobs work!
Bother and blast!!
Looked forward to ride with mate and some of his friends on April 4 .. and then dropped my Bandit as I was parking it outside his place prior to ride
Just jabbed the front brake on at the wrong moment and my forward momentum became rolling momentum. (Note to self: Kevlar jeans do not make your leg a rigid post that will stop a falling motorbike )
I was "annoyed" with myself and thought I had ruined what promised to be a great day's riding. When I realised I had only bruised one leg, and twisted the other, I picked the bike up with a bit of assistance and discovered remarkably little damage - especially since it went down hard into a spoon gutter.

No leakages occurred, again, a bit of a surprise because it was at an angle on its'side with the wheels largely higher than the tank.
BEST NEWS - no damage to my nice shiny cases, radiator or pipes and it started and ran fine, which meant the ride was on!
Photo of the injured me beside my wounded Bandit .. hidden by a Ducati 999 that very nearly did exactly what I did as he turned around it my mates' driveway, fortunately for owner, my mate was holding it from the back, (and fortunately for me because his expensive Ducati would have fallen straight onto my bike.)

The other two bikes were a couple of Yamaha FZ6's

Anyway, despite my sore legs, it was a ripper of a ride and I seriously reckon I was on the best bike. The Ducati rider was shaking his sore wrists and commenting on the off/on nature of the throttle and the Yam. riders felt uncomfortable buzzing through the handlebars.

P.S. If you get the opportunity make sure you ride the Delamere to Victor Harbor road on a quite, sunny day .. riding heaven

Bad luck about your bike 1952 ( a good year / same age as me ) you should keep an eye on SA rides & join us on the next one ( we took Reardo on the Delamee road as part of our ride with him.)

Thanks Paul - I will keep an eye on the SA news from now on and hope I can join a ride in the not to distant future. Let's hope for cool, still and sunny Autumn weather, as I don't have wet-weather gear.
