This one is in a small stationary car parked on the side of the road .As you go past it sends an instant message to 12 police men around the
corner .It "checks " EVERY car that goes by .With 50% fail they must have been busy .

Serves the fuckers right I say.
If you don't pay your rego, licence, etc etc then get the car off the road till you do and pay for the privilege of the boys in blue helping you do the right thing..

I'm with dhula. It's not as if they were speeding 5kmph over the limit. What the hell is going on on QLD roads?

Re: Busted .......
I hate cops, but I agree with you on this devise, mainly for drink drivers who just don`t stop driving when they`ve lost their licence. Theres one bloke I work with that has lost his licence,I can`t tell you how many times, been to jail several times, and just won`t stop drink driving and without a licence. BUGGERED if i`m gona die from a prick like that on the road!!!

Re: Busted .......
Not sure if other jurisdictions do the same, but here once sprung they automatically take the number plates off and the car stays on the side of the road until towed or the rego is paid and new plates issued (with coresponding additional costs for the new plates). Not unusualy to see a string of cars on the verge all without number plates.

I'm affraid that things of this sort are only going to get worse. The Big Picture is that a lot of people out there cannot afford the expences of rego's and such. I'm not for one second saying that is an excuse to break the law. But people will think that way. I dont want to start a political debate on a M/C forum, so I will just let you think about it.

I thought this was going to be about exposing Hammy for doing something again at first
The other unfortunate thing with this is of course no rego , no third party insurance ( not all accidents are between 2 cars or bikes )

Re: Busted .......
Gus actually posted .50% (point five oh) so thats 1 car on every 200 wanted for a range of offences. Probably not to bad across the board.
What we font know is the rate of unlicensed or rego which is what we should be worried about. Not soneone who the power company had been chasing etc.
Lets just take a breather.

This is why governments need to make it easier for people to pay. WA use to be able to pay 6 monthly rego, not sure if they still do. Victoria only offer this for concession card holders. We should be able to make part payment options so as to split up the family's rego due dates. Vicroads did it for me once when both cars were 2 weeks apart, but they refused one of the guys at work when his car and his missus was 1 month apart. Pretty tough for most families when your looking at paying out $1300+ in a matter of a few weeks.

Re: Busted .......
Exactly my point. QLD has a 6 or 12 month option. Which is handy to be able to split up your regos if you have multiple ones. We have Five !

Don't wana sound calis of nought but if ya can't afford 2 cars (or like me, 2 cars and 2 bikes) then get rid of one (we are seriously considering it to save costs) and do without if you can.madmax wrote:Vicroads did it for me once when both cars were 2 weeks apart, but they refused one of the guys at work when his car and his missus was 1 month apart. If you can't afford $1300 in one hit (who bloody well can) then use a special B word - budget.
I put away a bit every week towards expenses like rego, insurance etc. Works for me so might work for others

Re: Busted .......
it must be me, but why do people say [a little further back] that they hate cops? what does that mean exactly - do you hate people who invesitage and prosecute murderers, paedophiles, fraudsters, bash artists, housebreakers, rapists, thugs, louts, drunk drivers, drug dealers etc etc. these sorts of comments are so thick it really does worry me.

Canberra still has 3/6/9 and 12 months, plus the advantage that you can pay say the 3 months on Jan 1st 2012 and as long as you pay another 3 months before Apr 1st 2013 the rego doesn't laspse.
Of course you cannot drive between 1 Apr 2012 and when you pay the next rego, however it's a good way to keep another vehicle that only needs to be on the roads seasonally. I think NSW back dates the lapsed rego to whern it last ran out, not sure on other states.

We used to do it every 6 months / 3 months comes around too quickly ,& is more expensive. & as all 3 vehicles have now all seem to have aligned their run out time if we wanted to do it for a year , it`s like registering for 3 years .I think a better way to do it would be to register & insure the driver , not the vehicles as I can only drive one vehicle at a time, & it could be incorporated into our drivers licenses .( Oh well I can dream I suppose )

Re: Busted .......
I was in Singapore a while back, they have special rego for weekends. Good way to have a recreational vehicle as well as a daily commuter but it would never happen here as the state coffers would suffer.
Maybe if I keep the Bandit long enough I can get Vintage Rego.....
