Gladius feed back.
First topic message reminder :
Think we ( Jan and I ) have finally found the next bike for her. The Suzi Gladius 650, Non Lams version. Does anyone here have one in the family or know someone with one that can shed some feed back on the model. Seems to tick most of the boxes in a bike suitable for a small to medium size female. Cheers.

Hey Hammy,
This thread is a bit old, did you end up getting Jan another bike?
I just purchased a 2nd hand non-lams Gladius for my wife & she absolutely loves it, cant recommend highly enough!
I am trying to arrange a ride for Sunday 16th of September in the Qld Rides Section, if you come along you will see it in action.

Not yet. We have both been very busy with other things. I still think that Jan will buy a Gladius. Will try and make the 16th.

There doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with the current models.
The earlier ones had some issues but they're fixable.
It took the Japs a while to build quality and consumer confidence.
I would seriously look at one if I was after a 650.
Re: Gladius feed back.
I went from sv650N K7 to bandit Nekkid.
When you put decent springs in the front and racetech emulators, they handle great.
with a pipe filter etc I was running 75hp and it was fun, great noise etc.
When I was testing and researching, the gladius has more up front usable power and is more economical but it has a smaller tank. 14l vs 17l.
It also has a crap seat - as bad as the sv but in a different way. one is a plank of wood, and one is a besser brick.
getting the seat re-done with decent foam will save you a lot of pain.
Stock, the gladius is probably a better bike out the door but I prefer to be able to get 250k before stopping for fuel.
I went with 2nd hand sv over a new gladius (1k price diff at the time).
on the sv forums, one of the guys did up a gladius for his wife. looked great and apparently did everything very well too.
worth a look if you are interested. the sv1000 was awesome but with the same tank as the 650, range was fairly poor.
FWIW, the sv650 was rated in a lot of sites as the best girls bike, best beginners bike and a few other things.
It does everything well enough and if you aint into twisting the throttle like mad, bound to put a smile on yr dial.
For me, the bandit is a just better all round. comfortable, same range on a tank (but 2L more in bandit), more acceleration
and easier to throw around the twisties.
