I found after a while the peak hour grind and the weekend runs were two different things . The advantage of commuting all the time is that if you can`t go for a ride on the weekend at least you`ve ridden during the week and you don`t feel so ripped off Very Happy

same here, i like commuting to work and riding it on weekend. Cause it is two totally different bikes.... However living out in a bit of country like you do? I guess I can understand your point....

They're two different rides Gus but I understand your thinking as that was part of my frustration.
I suggest you swap bikes occasionally like I do to keep it interesting and batteries fresh.
If nothing else it helps with skills and neck strength.

Having never had a car licence I have only ever ridden or used public transport. As a 50th present to myself this year I might get my car learners permit and start to learn to drive. affraid

If I didn't ride to work, I probably would have quit ages ago. I often tell my managers the best part of work is the ride to and from it Twisted Evil

I could nearly justify a CBR250R for the commute given rego is cheaper here if under 300cc. I wouldn't want to do much weekend riding on it and that would maintain the pleasure of the Bandit.

I often think the same about the the DRZ400-SM. Small tank, hard seat but so much fun.

I average around 400-450 km a week to and from work and training. Still, nothing beats a 450km day down the coast or a trip to KV & maq pass Very Happy

Post  STI-REX Fri 13 Jan 2012, 9:16 am

I drive between 650 and 800 kms a day for work in the truck and when the weekend comes it can really be a chore to get out and ride

But when i do drag my sorry ass out on the bike it really is worth the effort Twisted Evil

I haven't been at work for a while now due to a work place accident
But I still can't ride since my operation in December and i have to go in for another operation on 19-1-12 and won't be able to ride for at least 3 months

Hopefully it gets better sooner than that I wanna go for a ride bounce
