Possible Bandit coming up for sale (is forsale)

A mate of mine might have to sell his Bandit, due to an injury.

I mentioned this site to him and he asked me to find out what people think it might be worth.

The bike is a 2008 1250a in the maroon colour. Completely stock except for the Ventura Rack. First registered around March 2010. Has just over 4000ks on it.

If it's in good nick I'd be thinking somewhere between 8k and 9k..

Last I saw of it, it was in perfect condition, and I doubt its any different now. It lives in his man cave resting on carpet!

His trouble is going to be the give away prices of the remaining 2011 stock. About 12k ride away.
That makes an as new 08 about 7k but it would need to have new tyres and reg.
A flogged one would only be 1k less.

bikesales say 8.5 to 9.5 for a 2008/09 with low kms
depending on how quick he needs to offload the bike I reckon 7.5 to 8 is a fair asking price. Maybe 8.5 knowing he'll get talked down to 8 or maybe a bit lower by the right person.


Depending on the injury, is it possible to mod the bike to suit maybe or is it a get out of bikes kinda deal.

a bit of both I think, as he has hardly ridden it in the past nearly 2 years with only 4000k on it.
The injury is preventing him from holding the throttle properly.

There is no way I'd spring 8k for a used stock Bandit compared to the competition from other bikes let alone the ride away prices on the new B1250.

I'm not sure where the seller is located but if he's anywhere east its just not worth the money. Well it is but he wont get it

6-7 is what I would have paid for it. Anymore and I'll go to the next guy that has one and pay that.....

Forgot about the 4,000 kls i'll give him 5-6 . One has to ask 4000 kls is 19 kls a week average ,what gives ?If anything i'd worry the bike has sat still for too long .

I still stick to my 7-8.
If the bike has so little kms on it the owner isn't adverse to having it sit int he shed waiting for the right person with the right cash.
No need to sell to the first tyre kicker.

I just picked up a 2008 with 4300 on the clock for $5000....and a very happy camper its a naked version in mint condition...

If it was mine, I'd put $8,000 on it. It's a big market place out there and I'm always telling friends & family off for paying to much for things.
The thing is, a lot of people see something they what and they just buy it. No questions asked.

I knew this this dickhead years ago, brought a $500 Mitsubishi Colt box of shit. Got a Beaver house&fence type of spray gun and some car paint from a garage sale. Painted it and put $3000 on it. yep, we all call him a Dickhead. BUT, A week later it sold

If some one has nicked one for 5000 grand good on him lucky bugger, but a bike / car whatever is worth what some one is willing to pay there are bugger all bandits on bike sales at the moment, so you tell your mate to kick it off at $8500 and if after a week or two no bites then drop it a few hundred, he would get 6-7 grand off a dealer who would sell it for 8500 -9000 so you tell him to hang in there its worth more than the 'experts' on here are telling you .

OK Madmax, made a phone call to my mate who owns a bike shop and he is willing to pay $7500 for your mates bike wholesale price, if he wants more he is happy to sell it for him on consignment , spoke to another mate at peter stevens motorcycles today and he said he had traded a 2008 bandit with abs for $8000 and said your mates bike with no abs was worth $7500 and he would ask $9990 retail for it, if that now answers your question.

His bike is ABS, and he's about to pay a full years rego on it.

Sorry its taken a while to get back to you but the guy who is interested in your mates bandit has been on holiday and is now back so I will ask monday if he is still interested , as a guide my bike is an 8/08 K9 ABS naked and I just sold it for $9000 with no roadworthy and 7000 ks on it privately so that makes his worth some where around that figure, will get back to you on monday.

Buggered if I know Ian, when you got 10 -11 grand burning a hole in your pocket and you start looking your spoilt for choice, had my heart set on a zx 12 found a pisser in hobart , then found a b king with only 900 ks for 10 grand a nick, now I am looking at an aprillia tuono 1000 r this arvo with under 9000 ks and in A1 condition , loved the bandit but want a bike that handles all you bandit owners will know what I mean when I say fantastic motor but scary handling with average brakes but you get what you get for your money, so as I dont want to be without a bike for more than 10 minutes watch this space.
