Ah the days of rockers ; surfies & mods ( sharpies in SA ) even Adelaide didn`t want to miss out on the action & they had a following .
Imagine how good some of the bikes would have looked with some "Gus-ism" done to them .
Old footage & the program has been run but still worth a nostalgic look cheers

In the 1950s my Dad attended the bike races at the old Mt Druitt circuit. The circuit was used from 1948 to 1958. Spectator attendance often exceeding 15,000 and was believed to be one of the best motor racing circuits in the country. The course was 3.6 kms long and situated on what is now Whalan Reserve, the Mt Druitt Industrial Area and Madang Avenue Primary School. NSW. Australia.

My Dad took these photos.

in days of old Pictur10

There is bucket loads of history around & thankfully reminders of it are kept in old photos etc as a permanent reminder.
Many years ago they used to race at Lobethal in the Adelaide hills ( a favorite destination for riders today) & a couple of years ago held races there to commemorate it / including down the main street , & on the old roads they used to use .
This is just a small selection of what was there .

BSA, AJS, Nortons. Dad never recorded what was racing then. He told me last year he and his Dad went to the TT at Isle of man just after the war.
