Oil Change .....
Today i decided to change my oil .Whenever i do this i always manage to spill some .
Today i was determined to break that cycle .The oil change went fine ,whick left me with about 4 lt of oil in the drip pan to pour into an old used
container .I sensed immediate DANGER ,so with a steady hand i started pouring from the pan into the plastic container .What could go wrong ,i am about to break a record of a no spill oil change .Here is the pan and container.
All was going well when i noticed some oil on the table .Bugger never mind its not much ,concentrate on pouring straight .I look down again oil
EVERYwhere at least 1 litre .WTF+#=! is going on here . I stop and examine the container .

Re: Oil Change .....
Well at least you won't spill it out of the top like I normally do. Good argument for a see through side so you can keep an eye on it while you're filling. Bit of perspex on the open side and you might be able to claim a patent Gus. Tinkering...tinkering...tinkering...

Here's a tip Gus, use the container you've just emptied into the bike

I use a 20 litre jerry can for waste oil.
20lt is the limit for free dumping at the tip so works out good for me (not a fan of those that dump waste oil in the wheelie bins)

Oil change catch pan
Gus,
I've been using one of these heavy duty plastic concrete mixing tubs when I pour used oil from my car or bike into the empty 1 gal plastic water bottles I use.
It sits out behind my garage and contains any spilled oil that may get spilled. It can store 6 one gal bottles of used oil in along with my oil drain pan and the funnel I use for pouring the oil into the plastic bottles. It's 3 ft long by 2 ft wide a 8" deep, and it's molded out of thick polypropylene and they last forever. I've had this one for over 12 years, and they cost about $15.
