NO SUZUKI FOR 2012 MOTOGP
What is going on ? I just read that Suzuki will not be fielding a bike for next years MotoGP series. The reasons they give are about as fuzzy as a Carbon Tax debate. Why on earth would a company as big as Suzuki not have their S--T together ? And have a new bike ready to go. Another very sad day for 2W moto sport.

Hopefully it’s just a case of a hiatus for a year to develop a bike that can overcome Honda’s dominance.
Suzuki have built some of the most exciting GP bikes I can remember seeing but electronics has a lot to do with it these days and they can’t put a decent headlight into a Bandit so what hope traction and stability control?
The Sport needs Suzuki (& Kawasaki) to be competitive. I hope they’re back soon.

Too true 2WA. All the manufacturers new of the changes to come. Cricky , even those disorganised Italians will line up on the grid in 012. I wonder how this will reflect on MC sales for Mr Suzuki. Like the old saying goes, " Win on Sunday, sell on Monday ".

Sad, but not totally surprising.
Not being in MotoGP doesn't seem to have harmed Kawasaki's sales.

It's in danger of becoming a 2 horse race - like the V8 Supercars - now only between Holden and Ford because they were being beaten by other vehicles that weren't V8's!

Why spend $17 million to come last , Kawasaki saw the light . To be honest give me Superbikes anyday , and i'll get 2 races .

On the contrary. Kawasaki overall sales were down a market leading 9.1% for 2010. Only the Ninja 250 learner standing up. This year Kawasaki has faired slightly better, thanks again to the 250 Ninja, but still way behind the top three. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki.

I think you'll find that they think they are better off staying in all the superbike classes. Suzuki has certainly done well for itself in AMA.
Mind you it's been a debacle in the last few years dropping back to one bike. Just as Alvarro Bauttista starts showing some promise and the bike looks like it might be coming together they go and do this. I reckon they'll see how this new rule goes with Chassis manufacturers and 1000cc donor motors before they'll show up again in MotoGP.
I'll never buy a bike based on MotoGP results, It's like saying you'll buy a Renault because they're going well in F1

I agree. Give me Supers and Historics any day.
Superbike development probably has more real world benifits.
I'm glad MotoGp exists though.
