Collie track day photos - 12 Nov 2011
A week of grinding and welding meant I could trailer the bike to the Collie track day
All ready to rock and roll
Go Dad!
One of the only rights in the whole track
The aftermath... Brand new 023 looks like this after a track day:
and the front...

Good shots .I am a bit surprised you left the center stand on .Unless you had a sandwich in you pocket because lap times were slow . (sorry )
From a look at the tires i guess the bolt around the wrong way turned you off .Any more shots ?

Good work.
Looks like the tyres held up pretty well for a street tyre.
What pressures did you start at?
How many laps?

After accusing Reddog of haveing a sandwich in his pocket to do a lap , i wheeled the bike out today, jumped on, and a mouse jumped off .

Re: Collie track day photos - 12 Nov 2011
Gus: I'm still not sure what you are on about with the sandwich thing
The tyres were running close to stock pressure. 36 Front and 39 rear. The weather was mild and the track temp was cool so no need to go stupid with pressures. I'm running stock suspension settings other than the front which is down to 2 notches left on the spring preload. At the back section of the track I was maxing out 4th gear (probably 160-180kph) before hitting the brakeds and slowing to about 75-80kph for the chicane. The bumps on the way in the faster I got were interesting, bum slightly off the seat dropping to 3rd gear with the rear end bouncing and squirming running wide throught the chicane to get good drive out, was heaps of fun
To get the bike to turn the 35 mm dog bones worked a treat, getting off the bike helped turn the heavy bitch in. Mind you, minus Givi gear racks it was a fair bit lighter than I am used of. It also looks heaps smaller now
The brake lever got longer and longer the more laps I did. The fan also came on everytime I entered the pits, which just about never happens on the road so I must've been hammering it a bit.

I Don't know about 56 minutes mate. I did eat heaps of bananas and keep my fluids up though. Last track day I started getting cramps before the end of the day so thought I'd try and stop that form happening again.
Checked the odo this morning. 125kms on the button. So 78 laps with approximately 11-12L fuel used

Did I mention how close I was to this guy (Sonik from Perth Street Bikes) on the motard and then he binned it Made me stand the Bandit up for a split second mid corner in case he stopped mid track
Here are some other shots:
Playing with Peter (rabbit from Perth Street Bikes) on the Hayabusa
One for Gus! Rounded up Peter (Hayabusa) and now chasing Unicycle from PSB on the Aprillia Tuono, we were probably the fastest guys in this group

I trust the trailer because I welded the damn thing... Trust me it is 1000 time better than it was 2 weeks ago with a fully rusted floor and structural sections. Now all replaced with angle iron donated from bed frames from the local tip. All up cost to refurb the trailer was around $100. Also blew my grinder up Now have a new Makita

Good luck Cameron... trust me on the jack up links they made the rear end stiffer and the bike turned like a much smaller one. Still heavy, but fun none the less.

Come to the ASB Rally
Re: Collie track day photos - 12 Nov 2011
ASB rally is a stone throw from you. It'll be a pretty big ride for us WA lads. I might see if I can get it off now that the schedule on the big project at work has moved to March/April

Here's some others
Did I mention the jack up links make the rear really hard. So hard that I am contemplating taking them off for the road. WIll play with the suspension this weekend and make a decision as to whether they stay
