Contour HD 1080 Camera WITHDRAWN
I bought 2 of these for a specific task - recording some forward and rearward-facing track footage - only a few weeks ago.
Now that is finished with I have one for sale. I'm keeping the other.
Comes with original receipt from Peter Stevens here in Adelaide, so still covered by warranty, along with original packaging and a suction mount for the tank (or tailpiece).
Footage is excellent - I used 720 x 480 at 60 frames per second. The original playback was jerky on my 2 year old Athlon-based PC (due to the highly compressed encoding used to save each frame) but once I got a decent free codec pack downloaded off the net and saved to mpeg I found I had very good video. The footage is clear and waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than you will see on YouTube (which is only 30fps).
Includes a brand new backup battery which I paid for but which is still on back-order so I never got to use. Note that the battery is still coming, but should be here any day now - I paid for 2 and will keep one of the two that are on their way.
Unit itself was $200.
Suction mount was $65.

Adapter for tripod mounting, which allows for easy changes to vertical shots. I used it to get some good footage by attaching it to the suction mount off to one side of the tank and then shooting downwards towards the front wheel. Cost was $35.

Flexible mount suitable for shooting backwards from (for example) a hugger was $17. I bought 2 and only used one.

Backup battery was $39.

So retail value of over $350 and I will sell for $275 or thereabouts.
I'll deliver if you're from Adelaide metro area, otherwise it will cost around $10 to send interstate via overnight express.

Hi Al,
Yes it is a Contour HD 1080P which has the wide-angle lens.
I hadn't bothered to push tooo hard to sell it as I was gonna take it to the Dakar as a backup (not racing, just following part of the race as it travels thru Peru).
But if you're interested, sure, I could always do with some readies - I'm out about $8500 so far in fares and tour costs etc........but I'm certain it's gonna be worth it.

Re: Contour HD 1080 Camera WITHDRAWN
Hi Al,
Thanks for the offer, but it was already priced about as low as I was prepared to go, so I think I will hang on to it. I will have the chance to run 2 cameras whilst I'm away in Peru, so I will update the topic so it goes inactive.
Cheers
