Breakin the bead would be interesting. I can just imagine all the scratches from multiple tyre levers, and "look a like" tyre levers...... Shocked

for the sake of 20bucks, I'll take it to the dealers thanks. Very Happy

Remove all the paint that the maker puts on the wheel.
Can't scratch the paint then

Gus I used short sections (100-150mm) of re-enforced garden hose sliced length ways to protect the rim edge worked well no damage.

Once you get the technique going piece of piss. Use 3 spoon levers and remove the centre one to go out wider. Just watch the video, there's others on Youtube that are better than the Jakewilson video. I just couldn't find it again. The guy uses cut outs from a juice bottle for rim protectors as they are thinner than the standard ones you can buy

Once fitted up it's a case of mucking about with the static balancer and wheel weights to get the wheel to spin freely and stop randomly rather than in one spot.

Just a suggestion but you could save money and not buy the balancer and use dynabeads. I installed these when i had my PR'3s installed and have not had a single problem or vibration. Have done 3500Kms so far with them in the tyres.

Yes you can mpottsy, but I'd rather balance the wheel properly than rely on beads in the tyre. Takes about 5-10 mins to balance it.

Plus I have 6 bikes in the shed and my mate has 2. If we buy beads for all of them it'll start mounting up cost wise. weights are $2 for a heap of them
