Tubeless plug kit
Just found this site on the web.http://www.tomcatdistribution.com.au/tire-repair-kits/stop-go-pocket-tire-plugger . Looks like a better kit than the ordinary plug type

I've heard those mushroom type plugs are pretty good but I've had no personal experience with them.

I've had several mushroom plugs over the years and they work as good as new. The longest I have run one was 15,000kmFossil wrote:I've heard those mushroom type plugs are pretty good but I've had no personal experience with them.

Good, just as long as you didn't run it for the life of the tyre.

Touch wood haven't needed a plug yet. But have a kit in the top box any way. Better to be able to limp home from out the sticks than have to piss about for hours sorting trailers and mates etc. to get you home.

the one I used is a lot bigger head...about 35mm across....not for emergency repair though.....has to be pulled through from inside........been in for just over 5000k with no problems.................Grumpy

Ooooooh, me likes that one! Ive only had experience with the spaghetti type plug. It lasted 45 minutes - but was enough to get me into the next major town for a "Professional Repair".

Tubeless plug kit
Mine had a 4mm hole in it but the plug they used had a flat head 30mm across, pulled through from the outside with glue added. I'm going to get one of these kits so that I never get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

The pump works great, so do the plugs and the tools to install them. The British army use the pumps in their armoured cars, will fully inflate an A/car tire in 5 mins.

I like the one with 25 plugs!!
Just how many punctures do these guys expect the average rider to get?!
Or
how many plugs do they expect you need for ONE tyre????

Re: Tubeless plug kit
Thanks Kaupy for starting this thread, it prompted me to delve into my repair kit I've carried but never used for the last 8 years or so. Well the plugs ( sort of fruit loop shape ) had acquired the hardness of mild steel and the tube of glue had sprung a leak so the whole thing was a mess.
I bought the kit you found from Tomcat with the mushroom plugs and it looks like a quality item - with a bit of luck I'll never find out how well it works. I also carry an elcheapo compressor I got from Bummings - gave that a test run and it does the job.
Thought I was going to need a repair the other day when I went through what looked and sounded like a heap of broken glass - I parked and walked back to find it was only a heap of crushed party ice someone had dumped on the road.
