Got a bit hairy along there today. Along one stretch there was ice hanging off the rock wall. I went into the first tight left hander a bit hard and felt the front drift out 200mm or there abouts.

Appreciate the photos and it brings back memories as a Gippslander. I backpacked up to the summit of Mt Bogong (from Tawonga, ie Staircase Spur) way back in the Summer of '79 (jeez I sound old). It was a five night walk, with the group carrying all food and provisions, the first day a killer. A great experience and one of my fondest memories. After 1st day climb to highest peak in Vic, 2nd day descent to King River (? - may have the name wrong without checking) and subsequent ascent was bloody hard but spectactular. These are the things you do in your youth before you know you'll never be able to do them again (damn that old age!!).
