2009 Bandit running like a snail
Bought it at 260ks. Yoshi slip-on. Ran ok up until 4000ks. Now top speed is around 130kph. Bought a Healtech fi tuner. hope it does the job. If anyone else has had the same troubles I'd like to hear about it.

Look for Gus' post about the filter that clogs in the fuel pump.
Here it is to make it easy.

Re-Cycled is on the money. Sounds like the fuel pump filter is clogged.
Thanks to Gus it's a fairly simplish fix.

Thanks for that. I thought because it had been shedded up until I bought it, and the fact that it only had 260ks on the clock the fuel system would be ok.
Looks like a strip-out on the weekend. Thanks

If I understand correctly you have done about 3,500km (wasn’t good at maths) and it was fine and now it wont pull/rev?
Its probably got little to do with the shedding and more to do with a build up of deposits from ULP in the fuel system. I’d run some injector cleaner through first with a tank of “quality” premium (not Apco!) ULP before pulling anything apart. Assuming each cylinder is failing and its not a spark issue. Also Have the battery checked because it will run like a bag of shit if the battery is stuffed.
If all else fails Gus’s fix looks simple enough although with the size of my mits I hope I never have to do it.

Yeah thanks. I ran injector cleaner through it a few times to no avail. It delevoped a singing noise around the tank (hard to tell where exactly) Maybe the pairvalve, or more like the bypass at fuel pump. Spark is ok although the standard plugs were a little bit hot. I've put one step colder plugs in and as long as I open the throttle very slowly it performs ok until about a top speed of about 130 - 160 kph. I'll check gus's fix on the weekend and failing that, the new FI Tuner might sought it out.

If it’s running lean (leaner than stock) the standard plugs will look a bit hot. I don’t know of anyone who has taken a step down in range and there are some pretty modded bikes with fancy inlet and exhausts on here. It won’t do any harm I guess.

If there's a singing noise from the tank then have you tried temporarily opening the petrol cap? It may be the tank breather has somehow become clogged (wasps or something?)

Could the singing noise be the fuel pump starving, like when you hold your hand over the end of the vacuum cleaner hose.
Re: 2009 Bandit running like a snail
^ That too.But if you follow Gus's walk through it will fix that exact problem.
