Do you think its possible to cut down ,gut and repack the original exhaust .Lets face it they are STRONG , fit and useless in the cupboard.
They have spot welds on them but it looks possible to pull it apart .Its "inards " need to be thrown away to make it lighter and made shorter.
Possible???

yes can be done - and with your ingenuity and determination I'm sure it will - I recon get a hot dog and make up some sort of pipework so that it all fits inside the outer shell and looks stock as a rock but sounds the biz.

hot dog costs about $50 I think if that, but if you nick one off the local Dato 120y I'm sure it'll work, bit of pipe work $10 - do it, you know you want to.

When you pull up you'll have dogs pissing on your wheels - and licking your exhaust.

Good one Peter.

Being slightly more serious now. Instead of welding it back up you could pop rivet it with stainless rivets and a band.

Postage on one is going to be significantly more than $20... they are pretty bulky and heavy,

Just do it Gus. If you need an original later you'll get one easy enough.

I spent an hour removing the 6 button heads (spot welded ) on the end of the original exhaust .Three of them were dummies ( or should i say 4 ) Mad
Then it gets worse ,the internals are not "slide in ".
