Admin - headings
I was thinking that maybe we should have a number of different headings for items of recurrent interest instead of mechanical - such as tyres, suspension, fueling, electrical, engine, mods, brakes, lubricants, body, chassis, accessories, other fluids, etc - or is that a big pain?

+1,
Also, I think we should have one for how to's, like Dhula's how to do a TB sync and Secondary removal

Re: Admin - headings
That would be great... can we split topics into sub-topics on this forum?

Re: Admin - headings
Also, do moderators on this platform have the ability to move posts between topics?
At the moment Cameron is the only moderator around. I'm going to go out on a limb and nominate Gus as a moderator too. We do a reasonable job of self policing the thread 'round here but we are growing quite quickly and that will not always be the case. I think 1 moderator per 200 users is a fairly good ratio that we should be looking for.

Re: Admin - headings
Just remember this site is Cameron's baby. He personally invited many of us early members here.
Cameron is not only the mod but admin as well.
I'm happy with the way the site is and I don't think it needs to look and feel like many others that eventually take on a life of their own and along the way loose their original identity.
Cameron can and has split threads and moved posts around but he's a young bloke and has a life as well.
Keep up the good work Cam

Re: Admin - headings
did not realise this was Cameron's baby. good work !! . IMHO this is the best forum around. I get on 5 forums that range from schoolgirls cat fighting to one where nothing happens. this one is always friendly , good humoured and helpful as well as entertaining. I like it ,and the people in it , just the way it is. if it has to be changed keep the changes small. (and if we get a bit bored we can always pick on Gus )...........................Grumpy

Cam, you do a bloody great job and more power to you getting another day in the week for time. +1 with others as one of the better forums to deliver a positive message and content, with congratulations to all for the way they provide infotainment. Esp Gus… and those whom reply…!

Re: Admin - headings
I recon it's a good forum with good membership where we can mostly give and take without fear that someone's guna have a sooky la la about it
I think the way it's organised could do with a few tweeks but in it's current form works.
Having sub headings under the main ones would make it easier to find and talk about stuff but it might also stiffle discussion as there will be too much to sift thru. It can also make it harder to moderate/admin
Bout the best one I can think of is making a "how to" section somewhere that can include all things how to from mechanical stuff to basic stuff like washing the bike. I think the best place for this if it became a sub heading would be "general" so as not to limit contributions
One of the best things to do IMO is fix the search feature to make it more intuitive and actually work (either that or send me the instructions so I can use it properly
I think we need another mod/admin dude of some sort to help out Cam but then again I think we all contribute to that task in some way so perhaps it's not needed
And to you Cam for running the show - BZ mate
